I am happy now that the Story FF4 films will be more appreciated, especially since we wont see another FF4 film for a very long time (unless Fox sells the rights to Marvel).


I notice how all the reviews are cliched though - each negative review is offering the same non-information. We still dont know if Ben did a goood Thing or how was Kebbel's version of Doctor Doom?

That gives me an idea. I know what Fox can do to gain interest again in the Fantastic Four after this terrible movie. They can make a movie where Trank's rebooted FF cast crossover into a parallel universe and meet Story's FF cast!

Not sure if I should still check it out with low expectations, a conundrum to be sure as most of my friends want to see it... I mean I've seen badly critically reviewed films before and in most cases enjoyed myself, but in those cases the non-critic audience liked the films, take Terminator Genisys: Most critics hated it cause of the time travel aspect, a lot of people really enjoyed it, I went to see it with some friends and ended up having a blast, so much that I went back for a second time and enjoyed it more than first time.

However F4 seems to have a lot of the non-critic audience (or at very least the most vocal of them) saying its bad so I'm just not sure..

Yeah - Im wondering if "Super-hero overload" is starting to finally creep into the public/critics minds now. Its been a relentless spew of these types of films for what seems like years now. Maybe enough is enough is enough? How many more ways can essentially the same story be told over and over?

Ill end up renting it just to see but like you my expectations are rather low.

Then again, the general consensus has been that the three "big" ones this year, Age of Ultron, Ant-Man and Fantastic Four have all underwhelmed and disappointed to varying degrees. Next year could and should reinvigorate things somewhat.

I've spent the last three years watching these films with friends (except for Age of Ultron, but only because I wasn't free that day), heck I even watched the Rogue Cut with my friend. Most of the screenings I go too are by myself, sure a lot of the ones I go to are older films from decades ago but even so. It's disheartening.

They all underperformed apart from FF i think. Maybe Daredevil did OK.
