The plot thickens.

I always figured that number was BS. This I find a little more believable, but even people seeing 3 movies a month they are still losing money on.

I got my card in late January, i've seen 30 movies as of yesterday when I went to see Disobedience. Definitely feel like i've gotten my moneys worth. From now to September, there's about 20 films I want to see too, so works great for me

Yikes....

"....The service pays full price for movie tickets that its subscribers buy.
Shares of MoviePass parent Helios and Matheson Analytics on Tuesday dropped 12 percent to a new low of 53 cents on twice its normal trading volume as Wall Street increasingly views the movie-ticket-per-day subscription service as a giant, unproven gamble...."

Went and saw deadpool 2, but was not required to upload a ticket stub. I thought everyone had to at this point?

No. But if you want to join the party, contact customer service and see if they'll add your region to the beta test.

I'm fine to not upload my ticket stub for now. Are you sure it is region based? I have many co-workers who have movie pass and some of them are uploading stubs and others, like me, are not required.

I should be getting my card soon. I am new to Moviepass. I just want to make sure I understand how to use it. I need to download the app. Then go to the theater select my movie and time. Then buy the ticket from the box office with the card they mail me. Do I need to do anything special like keep my phone on during the whole movie etc.

Have people gotten a card for themselves and one for a spouse to use?

Nope. It's as simple as you said.

If your theater is an AMC I'd recommended using the kiosk rather than a box office attendant. In my experience (& others) the workers themselves can be quite snooty about the service & it's users.

Me and my fiance each have a card, we check in, go to kiosks by each other, pick seats next to each other and then swipe our cards.

I was thinking maybe it had to do with how often you are seeing movies. I've had my card since the $9.99 price drop first happened and I still don't have to take pics but for the most part I only see around 4 movies a month with the card.

But I'm guessing you and your gf more or less see the same amount. So that throws my theory out the window.

Yep, we always go together, usually minimum 4 times a month but oftentimes more. I've been to maybe like 2 movies without her since we got our cards last October.

I used my card a ton at first (probably 10-15 movies/month in Sep/Oct) but then slowed down to 2-3 per month. I got the prompt for photos the day after I saw a movie out of town in April.

I'm pretty sure if your account gets flagged by some algorithm for "unusual or unlikely activity" then the photo button gets switched on. I've been averaging 2-3 films since october and hasn't asked me to yet, and really don't want it to.

May was kind of a dead month, the highlight being Bad Samaritan.

Fortunately, June will get me back to the theater. Can't wait for Upgrade and Hereditary!

Yeah that must be it, I assume there will be day where it's switched on for everyone no matter what.

That's not it, or at least it's not the only criteria. I only see a few movies a month, and I recently got added to the ticket photo "beta test"
