I like Tubi sometimes but I haven't even watched The Shark Side of the Moon yet and I need to get to it.
The single part of our back and forth that Alchav never seems to grasp or admit is the files used by streaming services are NOT the files used on Disc. They have never been and will likely never be. I am glad he likes Fiber internet though I'm going to get that too. Last edited by bhampton; 06-02-2025 at 03:25 PM. |

That's why I stopped feeding the troll. Might as well explain it to your wall. The result is the same.

I’m kinda come and go. I have to have blood transfusion and iron infusion once a week. My arms are full of track marks as if I’m a druggie. But unfortunately that’s all they can do until they find matching bone marrow. Which according to them will take 3-5 years and still no guarantee that it will help me.

3 to 5 years seems like forever when you need something so important. I certainly hope that when a match is finally found that it benefits you. I also hope that you are able to have a decent quality of life despite all of the many hardships that you have to endure. I won't forget about you. |

YOU are a Troll because you ignore facts, make up / keep repeating false facts, and you refuse to see the forest through the trees. You've even repeated some of those things again here. Like your point about files. The FACT is that the file that is on a 4K disc and the file being used in a 4K stream (or a Blu-Ray and an HD stream) are NOT of the same quality to start with. Even the best streaming options (I'm talking actual streaming - not a download service like k-scape) do not have the same full quality as a disc. Again, this is simply a fact, not an opinion. If someone doesn't care about the difference, or if they individually just don't perceive much of a difference - at least not enough of one to care, that is their choice and that is fine. YOU, however, keep insisting that they are the same right here and right now. YOU insist that somehow you magically get "Disc-Like Quality™ ![]() ![]() ![]() Fiber wiring is really not needed to get the best quality out of typical streaming services these days. It certainly doesn't hurt to have it, but it is not this miracle that you think it is in current streaming use cases. And "The Future™ ![]() ![]() ![]() And in the highly unlikely event that they ever were to offer that, it would probably come at a ridiculously high monthly rate. And still with all of the other issues that streaming has these days (titles possibly being removed, edited, replaced by a new transfer that may or may not be better than the previous one depending on how over-processed it might be). You act like people having back ups is some kind of huge negative against physical media, as per your recent reply to Steedeel, but what is being backed up is something that streaming simply does not and likely cannot offer - both in terms of quality, and also simply the preservation and access to our favorite movies and TV shows. I've said it before and I'll say it again, as much as I do prefer to get the best quality possible, a regular Blu-Ray or even DVD of a movie or TV show that I care about is better than any streaming option (even 4K) in terms of long term access. Backing things up just makes sense. Even the absolute best made physical product can potentially wear out, break down, be lost, stolen, or accidentally damaged. So it make sense to back things up where possible and reasonable. Streaming still does not replace what the physical options give us. And as I will once again need to point out (this isn't the first time and probably won't be the last time), many of us who collect physical movies ALSO use streaming services. I am currently signed up for a couple of them myself (I tend not to be signed up for more than 2 at a time, and will cancel one and sign up for another when desired - If I am spending a lot of time watching one or two of them, then it makes no sense to pay for more that I am not watching at that time). I also have a Vudu/Fandango account where I've redeemed many digital copies that come with my physical discs. I do not prefer it over the quality of discs by any means, but it is a nice convenient bonus. I don't count on it as my main long term main source for watching these movies, and wouldn't even IF the quality were on par with disc options (which it is not) simply because the content can be edited or taken away at any time. But it has still come in handy at times. When I was visiting family during the holidays, I signed into my vudu account on their smart TV and I had a custom list of Christmas movies that were there and convenient to watch. They played just fine in terms of the quality that Vudu/Fandango offers (which was fine, but still not equal to the disc counterparts), and guess what - we didn't need "Fiber™ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Again, the issue is not someone simply disagreeing. But when someone (such as yourself) keeps pushing lies, falsehoods, and gross misconceptions - that is when we take issue with it. ![]() Last edited by Dynamo of Eternia; 06-03-2025 at 09:44 AM. |

If you want to push this issue perhaps it is time to invite the moderators to review your recent posts and see what they think of your behavior.

At the same time, sometimes a niche market can be pretty profitable on its own right. There is enough room for both mass consumer stuff and some niche stuff to coexist in many situations. |

McDonald’s sells more hamburgers in the world, so would be considered a market leader. I can’t tell you the last time I stepped foot in one however, or had a desire to go eat one though.
