B&N delayed and then canceled my Kingdom of Heaven 4K order, so I'll have to wait a bit until it gets restocked somewhere.

On tech related news, I bought a new Mac Mini and a 32 inch 4K monitor display. The Mac Mini should arrive by Monday at the earliest and the monitor already arrived. I used my employer's discount for it via Dell. I used my student discount to get the Mini. I'll have to go to the campus once it arrives. I looked at my old Mini and apparently it's from 2014. It was time for an upgrade for sure!

I have not been buying many discs this year, but I did add:

It arrived yesterday while I was away at the hospital. I ordered it back on May 25th from the ebay store: Please Rewind.

Yesterday's cardiac stress test went better than anyone expected.
[Show spoiler]I turned in my best performance on the treadmill yet having improved my year ago results by 16%. My Vo2 Max result was 23.5 ml/kg/min. A normal result would have been 32.5-34.9. The threshold for the heart transplant list is 14 or less.

It is worth mentioning that my pacemaker was pacing my heart during part of the test, so while I want to take all of the credit for my big effort yesterday, I really can't. My ingrained stubbornness helped me, but so did the pacemaker.

The result of the stress test leaves me in an uneasy state of limbo where I have to wait until I get worse, but without dying, before I can get on the transplant list. My transplant doctor said he would see me next year unless something major happens before then. In the meantime I continue with my usual treatments that only slow, but do not stop, the progression of my disease.

Amazon had a sale on the Air Pods Pro 2 for $169, so scooped those up. They added free overnight delivery for tomorrow. My grand total was $184 with sales tax.

Never thought I would get their Air Pods because I've always used Sony Studio headphones but those are worn out. I needed something more compact for deep focus work sessions. They come built in with Atmos (Spatial), as well.

Nice. My dad had a green w/ white stripes 1970 w/ the 396 and a Holley 4bbl double pumper, 4 on the floor. They just don't make them like that anymore.

Received Ahsoka S1 and Mandalorian S3 UK steelbooks (because I wanted Blu-rays and the European-pressed 4Ks). Watched them all over the past day or two and not a scratch or a skip to be found.

So what's the deal with this and Tombstone constantly selling out? Are scalpers just cleaning out entire inventories then flipping these? My buddy ordered both when they initially released and he has had multiple orders delayed, then canceled by Amazon, Walmart and B&N.

Disney just didn't press enough stock. Same with Kingdom of Heaven. At least with KOH they acknowledged that they were going to make more.

Me neither. I'm waiting. It's not like I have a shortage of physical media to get through. Good "problem" to have!

it won because it was the better format, neither had mass acceptance at the time they were both very niche.

Yes but your lack of desire has not stopped them from being at the top of the market.
but does it matter? just because the masses are looking for something to stuff their face that is fast and (way over priced but that they assume is) cheap. Would a sane person assume that means one day there won't nothing but McD.

There will always be people that when they have a choice they will go for something better, there will always be people that are OK with it but from time to time they want something better and so "better" restaurants will always exist.

Same here.

thanks everything went well, he was there over night and back home around lunch time next day, he is now almost back to normal.

They installed two "mitra-clips" that reduce the leak in the valve, The tests afterwards said it is not 100% fixed but it is much better but in a month they will need to re-asses if he will need a third clip.

It’s a silly argument, food is a necessity, BD and 4KBD is not. Discussing food and relating physical media to food is a silly discussion.

Though the point you’re trying to make here we already discussed it in the other thread, and you lost the previous debate about this same topic between you and I in the other thread. You ignored my points, valid arguments, and questions I asked in the other thread.

It was clear in the other thread that you’re older age and your attachment to physical media from youth clouds your judgement, you seem to strongly believe this fantasy that BD and 4KBD will live on strongly decades from now into the future after Boomers and Gen X have left this earth, through Gen Z and Gen Alpha, when the current data and statistics is against your view. Gen Z and Gen Alpha are not overly interested in BD and 4KBD physical media, they haven’t gravitated to it and embraced it like they have with vinyl. Your entire argument isn’t built on facts, it’s simply your opinion which doesn’t win an argument that Gen Z and Gen Alpha in future might become more interested in BD and 4K BD like they have with vinyl. For you to have an actual counter argument that wins the debate, you need to present facts outlining how the BD and 4K BD market will remain viable and sustainable when Boomers and Gen X are no longer contributing their money to the market when the majority of them pass away.

Thanks for the sentiment. I know exactly what you mean. My dad had a serious heart attack around 30 years ago. at the time it is extremely scary but (if you survive and get treatment) it is far from a death sentence.

and we should all keep that hope.
