Never used them before, does Bullmoose ship in nice boxes? I don't see these listed on their site though, already sold out?

That's normal play, all their pre-orders say backordered when you're checking out. If your order goes in you're golden because they charge you instantly.

I met him fifteen years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No original mono, no new extras, no understanding in even the most rudimentary sense of consistent aspect ratios, of original mono vs. dowmixed mono, too much blue tint or not enough. I met this six-year-old child with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and black-crush eyes, the devil’s eyes in HDR. I spent 3,840 pixels trying to reach him and another 2,160 trying to keep him locked up because I realized that what was living behind that boy’s eyes was purely and simply... 4K.

God willing, we'll all meet again in "Halloween 8K: The Search for More Money."

Gonna have to give this round to Boris.

Wow, that’s a coincidence. I hadn’t even read that post yet. I’m about ten pages behind. Props to Boris. Mine is a little different though. I’m just trying to bring some of the silliness from the Halloween III UHD thread in here.

I like the idea of the slipcases for the vinyl and UHD, but they'll be too wide for my shelves

I've never had anything arrived damaged from Bullmoose. They don't always use "nice" boxes, but they do protect things well in shipping.

Eh, that's what I thought. Can't take any chances on these with the thick chip boxes, had to go with Diabolik they ship things right guaranteed.

I think they just do the remaster and send it to Cundey and he approves it. Whatever that means. I doubt he is actually supervising. Maybe he needs new glasses.

I think Cundey has an amazing eye for shot composition etc., but I don't think he is a great authority on whether a new restoration is a match for the originally-released version of a movie he worked on. It seems like he's either (a) simply approving whatever they send him or (b) giving it "another go" so to speak, in an attempt to improve the movie each time.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say it's (b), but either way, his stamp of approval in no way indicates that a release's color will match the original.

On Shout Factory's website it says: "In an exciting nod to fans, Halloween (1978) (Collector's Edition) (4K UHD) features a return to the original camera negative for the first time!"

I thought the Lionsgate 4K release also used the original camera negative.

The Bullmoose search leaves a lot to be desired. Here are the links:

Pretty sure the 2013 scan did, too.

Ordered 1 and 2 from Bull Moose. Going to order 3 and 4 from diabolik so they charge before they come out, probably next week. I'll get 5 with my rewards certificates from Best Buy, unless their pre-orders are list price.
