Thankfully the discs should last a lifetime if handled carefully and I believe players will still be available for a long time also.

My kids do only streaming as it's what they are familiar with. I enjoy the higher quality AV on the discs.

It has been six weeks today since I had my pacemaker surgery and that means that the last of my post-op restrictions are finally over! I can now raise my right elbow above the height of my right shoulder and I can lift more than 10 pounds.

I can now resume doing cartwheels, handstands, and power lifting stacks of blu-rays. Look for me at the senior Olympic tryouts.

The last two tvOS, Mac OS and Xcode upgrades did not require me to pair the ATV4K to Xcode again. Does require tvOS, Mac OS and Xcode to be the same versions.

Asked Apple sometime back to make the HUD part of tvOS. I suspect HUD is not intended for end users so they will keep it for developers only.

For those that may not know, the Apple Developer HUD (Heads Up Display) provides some streaming diagnostics as seen in the pic below. Works only for streaming, does not work with file play using Infuse.

[Show spoiler]

Wow... that was a spirited couple of pages of entertainment...

While I detested his tone and seemingly pathological need to be declared the "winner" if the debate or have others beaten into submission, you guys know that I kinda fall on his side on some of the points..

I just think that we can respectfully agree to disagree on some things so that we can sing kumbaya on others..lol...

I agree, but in his case there was no respect. There was also evidence of troublemaking in other threads. You don’t mess with the crew.

I really like the infuse app on TVOS. Long ago it had audio passthrough capability. If ever they achieve that again I will look into it right away.

edit - speaking of which - this is allegedly part of TVOS 26 !

Apple TV 4K reportedly gains audio passthrough support in tvOS 26

Passthrough Audio is Finally On the Way!
https://forums.appleinsider.com/disc...phone-and-more

If infuse gets back audio pass through there is a solid chance ATV4K could be one device to rule my entire HT. This is because infuse is a great file player that would suddenly be capable of playing back full quality disc backups via the network. This is very exciting news it could change my complete setup for the much simpler !!

I found some of his points to be at least plausible, but I really had to drill down past all of the unnecessary attitude and negativity to find them.

It certainly did not require 51 posts across two threads to say what he had to say, either, but I know how entertaining you find repetition to be.

While I like and use Infuse almost every day I don't see it replacing HT5 in the home theater. But then again I don't use HT5 like most do.

I only use Infuse every four weeks. In fact, my next infusion is this Thursday when I return for my next drug trial treatment.

Have the collector's Vault Volume 1 preordered.

Just got this one myself.

I did have Road Warrior already. Got the Anthology set previously.
Still have to get the newest one in the franchise.

I mean I do too.

In some ways I am excited for where physical media is right now. Lots of good releases. We got a strong Seinfeld 4k. We got Succession on Blu-ray.

There's a lot from Warner, Kino Lorber, Universal that I've been really excited to have.

I love all of this a lot. Its awesome to have a lot of prestige television shows and so many of my favorites on my shelf.

And it's helped me get back into great anime, and I'm beyond thrilled about it.

But I worry about the future of this relatively new hobby of mine. It doesn't feel like it is trending in the right direction.

As far as physical media is concerned, things have never been better.... but that won't last.. nothing does...enjoy it as it is RIGHT NOW... worrying about it is wasteful... you are powerless to stop the changes and are only wasting time worrying rather than enjoying...

With the embargo against buying from the US imposed on my household and my lack of time for movies in general, my purchases game slowed to a trickle...

I'll hit up a few places while I'm on vacation over the next few weeks as the opportunity arises- my daughter wants to bit up a few book stores to purchase UK editions of some favourite series that actually get dumbed down for American readers.

I'll be in Ireland this weekend... the holy grail title I'm looking for is the ARROW UHD of LIFEFORCE... one of my favourite guilty pleasures that somehow didn't make it into my collection... my son says it order was cancelled for some reason...

I mainly come to this thread to get updates on Vilya and now Sapiendut. And maybe to see what new movies everyone has purchased lately.

Vilya, what is your avatar from?

There are lots of really good people here worth visiting, so come often, pull up a comfy chair, and stay awhile.

My avatars are derived from my late brother's drawings. He died at the untimely age of 38 many years ago. Seeing his artwork as my avatar is just one of the ways that I keep him in my thoughts.
