I thought the Lionsgate 4K release also used the original camera negative.
It wouldn't be the first time some PR copy fudged the truth to make a release sound more credentialed, better spec'd than previously or unique. These aren't legally binding pieces of information.

Is it/will it be available for pre-order from BB? I don't see it and I'd rather get it there if possible.

BU used to say that everything was from the o-neg, even threw up a video of them doing the scanning of the neg for Zombie. Then the film owner said they never gave it to them.

Shout also advertised 4K OCN on the steelbooks for H2 and 3 and those were apparently from IPs.

Right. As I mentioned prior, I am skeptical anyone is returning to the OCN of this movie in a relatively short period of time.

I don't often trust these press releases tbh. It's like when labels advertise something as being sourced from a 'brand new restoration,' even though said restoration originated across the pond five years ago...

We'll read this again in 5 years when Dawn of the Dead finally gets a US release using the Second Sight master

I'm sure it will, but unfortunately I haven't seen it pop up on their website yet.

So now some people are thinking that some these films aren't getting new remasters from the original negative? Is there anything that points to this being the case?

BullMoose usually ships in envelopes like Amazon, plus their return process isn't as smooth. But, maybe if you buy all 5 at once they might all ship in a box - even Amazon uses boxes for some orders.

BAH! Call me when they electron scan the original silver halide crystals used to make the negatives. THEN we're talking!

Bullmoose always sends my orders in boxes, including my copy of Scott Pilgrim by itself.

Ordered all 5 today directly from Shout. Looking forward to getting them +/- 2 weeks early so I can get around to watching them +/- 2 years later.

Well, yes that's what we were led to believe, yet this would still make SF's effort the first "Return" to the OCN considering the remastered Blu-ray and 4K release obviously cane from the same scan.

I'm confused; how did they have a video of themselves scanning the negative if they never had it?

So was it actually an internegative or something?
