On Thursday I had 3 ECG tests, an echocardiogram, 6 different surveys about my symptoms to fill out, a 6 minute walk test, a physical exam, 14, yes 14, vials of blood drawn, and my drug trial infusion. It took every bit of 11 hours all said and done.
And then on Friday I had my cardio rehab workout. I feel like the scarecrow in the Wizard Of Oz after he has had all of his stuffing ripped out. Tuesday was the only day this past week when I was not at the hospital, but I put that day to good use. I used it to buy stuff like a good little consumer: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and this fat bastard filled with 33 stacked blu-rays which I transferred to proper cases to eliminate the stacking: ![]() It still ships with the uncorrected copy of Season 7, Disc 1, but I already have the corrected disc (labelled "REV 1" in microscopic print along the disc's inner ring playback side). The above are what have arrived so far; there are more inbound and, yes, I am every bit as ![]() |

Yes they have a Blu-ray now, but why did you get this DVD are you a Pilot did you fly out of Van Nuys? It has always been one of the busiest General Aviation Airports in the Country. I guess not too many Pilots on this Blu-Ray Web Site, nobody ever comments on Aviation...Here is the One Six Right Web Site.

They also raise the price on items right before Prime day, then knock it back down to the same price.

The reasoning that I am asking is that I ordered the Bill and Ted 4K Trilogy set with the recent sales, and I am dreading the condition it will show up in given Amazon's track record. Last edited by Dynamo of Eternia; 07-13-2025 at 12:10 AM. |

Prime Days ended on Friday, so I do not know what Amazon was asking for this set during their event and thus I can not do price comparisons now. For my recent purchases I only bought the I Love Lucy set from Amazon; I avoid buying from them whenever I can.

I am curious what retailers generally and actively price match Amazon (PM me if you don't want to post it here). Even if it doesn't help me out in this current situation, it will be nice for future reference. With this current/recent prime day sale, here's what is funny... I don't have an active prime membership. I just don't use it enough to maintain one constantly. If a free or cheap trial offer comes up, I'll use it, or just sign up for a month if it will be worthwhile. With many of these prime day deals, there would be a prime price and a non-prime price that were very close (so even without prime, it was close), but just slightly more without it. I ordered that Bill and Ted set when that was the case. But in these couple of days since prime day technically ended, many of these things are still on sale, but with the slightly lower prime-exclusive price now being available for everyone. So yesterday I canceled my order and placed it again for that reason. |

Price is not the only consideration. If another retailer offers better packaging for shipment and/or faster shipping times then paying a little more is worth it. If an item is limited or otherwise collectible then I will go with whoever is most likely to get that item to me intact. For the purchases that I posted above I ordered The Looney Tunes Platinum Collections from Movie Zyng; they offer a wide selection of titles. https://www.moviezyng.com/ The other cartoon titles I ordered from Walmart.com. Walmart's packaging is not necessarily any better than Amazon's, but they get my orders to me in 2-3 days if the items are shipped and sold by Walmart.com. Less time in transit seems to have improved my odds of getting things undamaged. Walmart.com prices are often very close to Amazon's. Amazon can take 5-7 days to get my orders to me and that was the case even when I had a Prime membership. For rural customers Amazon's delivery times can be very slow and their packaging is routinely awful- unless you pay an extra $3.99 per item for gift wrapping. They usually ship gift wrapped items in a box; that is how I ordered I Love Lucy because that set is badly designed for disc storage to begin with. Another tactic to use with Amazon is to order a couple of rolls of paper towels or something similar to act as packing protection, but that only works if your items all come from the same Amazon warehouse and at the same time. The Criterion titles were ordered from: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/ They are the ones that launched this semi-annual Criterion sales event AND you can earn rewards for purchasing from them. I got a $10 reward for my latest order and my items were shipped in a box. Frailty was ordered directly from Lionsgate Limited as their "limited" titles are not offered elsewhere as far as I can tell. https://lionsgatelimited.com/ They seem to announce new pre-orders every 15th of the month. My single title order was packed extremely well in a large box with ample packing material to prevent the product from bouncing around inside during transit. I have never had an order packed better for shipment. I ordered The King Of Kings and Laurel & Hardy Year Two directly from https://flickeralley.com/ I also order from https://www.gruv.com/ They offer Universal and Warner Bros. titles and they often have good sales. I sometimes order from Sony's ebay storefront https://www.ebay.com/str/pleaserewindus I have not used Deep Discount in awhile as I have heard that their return policy can be a real pain, but they sometimes have good deals, too: https://www.deepdiscount.com/?srslti...m8M2oRaVMK1bm6 Some people like Bull Moose, a retailer in the Northeast, but I have no personal experience with them: https://www.bullmoose.com/?srsltid=A...v_8MU05STtUbZC I like to order directly from https://kinolorber.com/shop. They also have good sales from time to time. Shout has good sales, too, and sometimes ordering directly from them will get you a free movie poster: https://shoutfactory.com/ These next three retailers all pack their orders really well for shipment; they tend to offer both imports and collectible sets from a variety of labels like Arrow, Imprint, and others. They may cost a little more, but if you want your order to arrive in one piece they have a perfect track record with me so far. https://www.atomicmoviestore.com/ https://www.orbitdvd.com/ https://diabolikdvd.com/ They offer free shipping at about $100 if memory serves. Just note that if you buy a pre-order title among your items nothing will ship until the pre-order item is available. They charge your card for everything at the time that you order, too. Ordering direct from these labels can be beneficial also: https://www.arrowvideo.com/shop.list https://www.classicflix.com/ https://shop.a24films.com/?srsltid=A...ifgkctpN3h-zNJ https://www.criterion.com/ You can earn $50 gift certificates purchasing directly from Criterion even during their one-day Flash Sales. There is also Vinegar Syndrome, but if you are not a paid "subscriber" they are very slow to ship your order. They have some great items, so their peculiarities are worth tolerating. https://vinegarsyndrome.com/ Those are most of the places that I shop. Our other members can probably offer suggestions, too. I hope that my Dynamo size reply is helpful. ![]() Last edited by Vilya; 07-13-2025 at 04:31 PM. |

Of all the boycott culture permeating my home at the moment the one non starter for me would be the pressure to get rid of Amazon..lol..
I maybe the only one in the household that still orders from them, but there is still a steady stream of packages virtually on a daily basis. As Vilya points out, it is highly location specific, but I live in an area where I often get packages delivered the same day that I order them and, much to the chagrin of the more eco friendly members of my household, everything seems to come almost comicallly overpackaged... it really is laughable... The UPS store for returns is a 3 minute walk from my house and on the route I walk my dog... so I often buy first, think later about whether or not I'm going to keep the item. As a guy that hates to shop, I love AMAZON... and to a lesser extant COSTCO as a one stop for everything else... |

Superman was just ok. Nothing special.
I just watched my copy of the Frailty 4K disc and it's a phenomenal release. The Atmos soundtrack was nuts. |

Frailty has one of those endings I will never forget. Great movie in deed. Glad it got some love from Lionsgate.

I blind bought Frailty and watched it in January. I agree it’s an excellent horror thriller, superbly acted and definitely dark and disturbing. I’m not sure I liked the last act but will rewatch soon and see if I’ve changed my mind. Brilliant film overall though.

I enjoyed it. It is definitely different from any other live-action Superman movie, but I think that worked in its favor. The casting was perfect in my opinion. It's a little too overstuffed but it was a fun ride. My wife was not a fan however. This will definitely be a divisive movie.

More titles arrived today:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I loved Flow and I intend to buy the Criterion edition in September, too. ![]() The CG Entertainment edition (Italy) is the only edition with HDR and that has resulted in some controversy as to what the director approved or did not approve. I am also looking forward to watching The Wages Of Fear and Sorcerer as a double feature; I have never seen the latter. Last edited by Vilya; 07-14-2025 at 09:32 PM. |
