![]() What I actually watched was: ![]() ...on Bapple TV as the Minions would call it. The movie was just ok; it started good, but then it just became weird and in a ![]() I finished the night with an episode from ![]() Art Garfunkel hosted and he used the opportunity to try and promote his solo singing career; he sang three times while his musical guest star only got to sing once. I think we know how well Art's solo career went. John Belushi did an eerily foreshadowing skit where he played an old version of himself visiting the graves of his costars and lamenting their early deaths. He was the first of them to actually die nearly four years later, and almost to the day, on March 5, 1982 at the age of 33. This episode aired on March 11, 1978. Didn't have to search it jumped out at me, I look at the Hardware side. So what do you think is it going to affect you much? It was suppose to replace the Oppo. I heard that Oppo's are going for $6000, are you guys going to buy these for Backups?

Used Oppo 203s can still be purchased for around a $1000-$1500. New in box can set you back $3000+. New in box Oppo 205s can cost $4500+ with used ones running about $2100- $3100. The prices fluctuate some, but these ranges are typical of what I see when I check on ebay. |

Reavon closing is old news.
Reavon was a product by Groupe Archisoft, Paris, a.k.a. Laser Land. They were the parent company of Zappiti. Now they are the parent company of R_volution. It is unclear if Groupe Archisoft has a connection to Magnetar. At one time the US distributor for R_volution was the same folks for Magnetar but that distributor is now defunct. I know AV Science Sales sells Magnetar, Value Electronics may as well. It is nice to see Tascam still sells their professional grade Blu-ray and UHD Blu-ray players, here. |

it is not all people with projections, most people have a fixed AR set-up just like TVs. But when you have a proper variable AR set-up it is annoying that you can't get the best out of your set-up. That being said I prefer mixed AR (if in the original creation) to P&S to get fixed AR. I just wish directors would stop doing that, pick an ER and go with it.

But it is alchev, somehow he always misses when decides stop supporting a given digital option because of planed obsolescence, when a given digital platform closes down, when a platform increases the prices, when they go down hill (looking to save on content) |

Just like the JELLYFIN server, it'll be a project for my son and I with parts we'll have lieing around (when he decides to update his supercomputer gaming rig again). It may mean losing the ZIDOO'S simple posterwall which the whole family loves and some ease of use ( which is my biggest concern) but I think this shifting ratio thing is unfortunately catching on ![]() |

I remember when MadVR was free. I guess some version of it still is.
Here's a link to it but I don't recommend visiting the VideoHelp website with a PC. ![]() [Show spoiler] I used to use a HTPC with JRiver which had a Red October quality mode that used MadVR. Variable Aspect Ratio doesn't bother me much. If it's a Christopher Nolan movie I just use my default 16/9 mode. That and some of the Mission Impossible movies. ![]() ![]() For the most part, I'm happy with simply matting to 2.2:1... I get most of the extra scene above and below the scope image during IMAX scenes and can barely notice the slight shift from 2.39:1 with thin black bars to the full screen with none. |
