Is David DeFalco signing your paychecks?

Does he tell you what to say or does he let you freestyle?

When I went to see what one movie you have in your collection, I was REALLY surprised to see that it WASN'T Chaos.

You've done a really good job stirring the pot and keeping the thread going.

Does he pay you a commission or a bonus for that?

Is it Tax Free?

I'm not even trying to be mean, either. I am genuinely curious about your role with the company.

A very sound thought process...

Lol.

Speaking of Chaos has DF announced the release date of the deluxe edition yet?

Unless I missed it, I saw no evidence that Kino had anything to do with distributing Offerings for Dark Force. Shouldn't there've been a Kino logo or other distinguishing marks on the packaging?

That was my thought as well. There wasn't anything on the Offerings case

I don't believe Kinos name pops up on the Code Red titles they distribute either.

The stock photo for Offerings has the classic slim blu ray banner that all Kino releases have.

Bottom of spine of case also has K23012 kino stock #

I guess they only slap their logos on titles they directly collaborate with other labels on, like Scorpion. I've rearranged my shelves by label so I had to decide whether I wanted to put the Kino/Scorpion collaborations in the Kino or Scorpion sections (I chose Kino). I've got Offerings off to the side until I decide where to put them

FTFY

CR/DF releases probably too politically incorrect for them to want to attach their name to it.

You can laugh all you want, but I've never seen a person come across as a bigger shill than you have in this thread; and having spent so much time in the Code Red thread, that's really saying something!

Ok

Pardon me for not participating in the hate pile-on and conspiracy theories.

Dark Force announced cool titles I want, that's mostly what I care about, not the high school drama I've seen in this thread.

I organize mine the same way. All of the scorpion kino collabs are in the Scorpion section for me.

I have all of my studios organized alphabetically except Scorpion comes after Code Red since I always associate the two. Don't know where my Dark Force blus are going though since that collab might be over haha

Best to not participate at all then, as I haven't until now. Your bending over backwards to come up with equally implausible alternative theories in their defense doesn't help the matter any more than all the piling on and conspiracy theories. It just makes you look like a shill because most people fail to see how else you would someone gain from that behavior.

I bought their first drive-in double-feature, and I finally got their second with HotEotP/LHoMS shipped from DDD, so I have no dog in The House that Vanished fight. For me, I'm not interested in a compromised release of that film, so I'll hold out for a better one.

Kind of sad that not jumping to mob-rule conclusions based on incomplete data is considered "shill" behavior. In reality, it's simply presenting a logical alternative that is also possible. Unless you work for Dark Force you don't know the truth behind some of the assumptions made in this thread.

I have noticed in this forum mob mentality is the way it goes. If you don't go along with the mob mentality you are branded a troll and now a shill. I don't care to go along with mob mentality thus if there are reasonable alternative explanations I will continue to discuss them.

I also find it entertaining that some keep calling to put me on an ignore list (or telling me to keep quiet) because reading opinions they don't agree with is apparently so mentally troubling for some on this forum. Although frankly, this is a problem with society in general these days. [emoji3]

Time will tell if Code Red stays linked with Dark Force. Without Code Red's assistance, though, it's likely the label will fold, as Code Red was supplying both titles and transfers, and DeFalco's knowledge about the home media business is so limited that he wasn't even aware of what source material was used for THTV (print vs. IP vs. CRI, etc.). Also, his situation has become rather public within the boutique home media industry, with other label heads commenting on it and Kino dropping him...I doubt he'd find too many others interested in assisting him should Code Red withdraw.

I theorize that Dark Force essentially allows Code Red the ability to maintain a larger storefront while Bill Olsen is in Los Angeles, which is where DeFalco lives. Instead of just shutting down the Code Red cartel storefront, he can also operate thru Dark Force's.
