On the other hand, if you could get the Center and some Surrounds at the same time.... that would be great.
The main reason I'd get a sub over the CC10 at this point is because I'm worried about killing the 70's. I just watched the emergence scene in War of the Worlds and the house was shaking. I don't want to kill those 70's by making them produce that LFE that should be going to a sub before I actually get a sub. I mean, I just got these things. I'm afraid to break them.

I don't think you'd break the CF70s, but those frequencies are better reproduced by a sub then your speakers.

I have Cf50's and a CC10 with an A2-300. I'm not an expert but, I think from what I know about my system I would get the sub first and wait for a deal on the CC10. Especially if you can get an A2 300 while it's in stock. I had to wait almost 2 months for mine. I was debating between getting the HSU VTF-1 (10 inch) or the A2 300 but, I caught a christmas deal and got the A2 300 with the isolation pad for $440. I would still like to hear The two in a side by side comparison but, I have to say that the E.D. does a great job for the price. Today I was looking for a furniture set at American with my girlfriend and I took her in their home theatre department. She saw the subs that they sell (mostly Polk, Klipsch, and Focal) and she said, "Those look tiny compared to our sub" Not saying that those subs suck but, I bet the A2 300 would kill anything they had on the floor that was under $600. Just out of curiosity what kind of receiver are you using to power the CF70's?

I'm using an Onkyo HT-RC180. I am kinda leaning towards getting the sub over the CC10 for the time being.

I second that. Get the A2 300 while its in stock. You won't regret it. A great sub at a super price.

If they're in good condition, then that is an amazing deal.

I'd jump on it before someone else does (assuming they're in good condition). The cheapest I've seen CF-70's brand new was $200 each, and that was back in April this year. Of course ...they sold out in less than a day.

Where? I'll buy them if they're in newish condition. My dumb ass payed $800 for a pair of CF50's. I should have waited for deals like this!

Hey Callas - the 30.3 has been awesome! I'm enjoying it more and more each day. The Qdeo processor really does a nice job of upconverting everything non-HD to 1080p. HD cable looks terrific. Even standard DVDs look darn good. Blu-rays look as pristine as ever and the HD audio is simply incredible. Coming from a Pioneer receiver with no HD audio, there really is a big difference. The sound is very balanced and I'm hearing things I never did before. I love the appearance of the unit and its built like a tank. I bought a USB component fan from Coolerguys and placed it on top of the receiver - it works nicely pulling away the heat from the surface. All in all, I'm really glad I bought the Integra.
It has performed flawlessly.

How are you liking your new center channel? I bet you notice a big improvement watching movies?

the center channel is awesome. I never worry about dialog or impact it does both very well, off axis sitting is awesome. I have never had a center speaker this good.

well, Id say this, My C-300s were nearly as good as the CF50s, so the C-500s should be almost as good as the CF70s, maybe just a little less mid-range seperation. That said, your RC30s will be better musically, maybe since you have the rest of the C-series, you should use the C-500s for HT, and the RC30s for 2-ch... just a thought.

I have a pioneer elite SC 37 powering two cf 70s a energy cc 10 and four definitive tech SR 8040s. I used a spl meter to check the channel levels and made sure they were all at 75db using the avr test tones. It sounds good except for the center channel dialogue sounding low. What do I do? I read all speakers should be uniform but it sounds low. here is a pic of the new set up.

it could be that its was poorly recorded dialog, if its that way on all of your movies, then you can bump up the center channel gain, I would suggest bumping it up 1-1.5 dbs

RC-30 all the way over the c-500, no possible comparaison here, for the rc-30 if you have not done so and intend to use it as 2 channel I would suggest an IA in the 1K range.
