Sorry if this a repeat post but I would like to know if any streamer using Android devices has installed the Projectivity launcher on their device? If true, how do you like it? In the near future I plan to install on the Nvidia Shield Pro.
Below is a YT video about the Projectivity app, there are several on YT, search Projectivity. [Show spoiler]

You built a top notch home theater with unique seating, but you are content to watch overly compressed artifact riddled bitrate starved video on a 130" screen while listening to often anemic lossy audio through 18 speakers. It's like building a gourmet kitchen and serving Hot Pockets for dinner. Last edited by Vilya; 08-25-2025 at 04:53 PM. |

Presentations on SHUDDER are the absolute worst things that I watch... but much of that is comprised of fare not available elsewhere, or certainly not worthy of the effort to track down physically or own for posterity...but as far as newer first run ( to me, as i don't attend the cinema anymore)movies are concerned, the on demand streams in 4K DV and DD+ ATMOS can be more than simply slumming it... Two recent examples - HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON and BRING HER BACK ... Watched and enjoyed both weeks before the physical discs came out...As I've said earlier, my audio offset is +10db for streaming ( yes I'm fully aware of the bias factor, no need for a debate)...there was not a video artifact to be seen in either and I'm quite confident that the overall presentation of both was more overall spectacular than what many denizens of BLURAY.COM experienced weeks later with their UHD discs on a TV and soundbar. The UHD of HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON arrived with the abomination of shifting aspect ratios. Thankfully this was only a minor annoyance in my setup but if I only had access to a TV without masking capabilities, I personally would take the shortcomings of the stream any day of the week for that title... As far as the disc for BRING HER BACK, I've already made my feelings clear...it is jaw droppingly REFERENCE quality in a way that I don't recall the stream being... but it was on the strength of that viewing that I decided to add the title to my "permanent " library... I'll watch this over and over again because it's a cracking movie... not because it also happens to be an aural and visual treat... and again, i truly believe that my initial streaming viewing on my setup rivals what most will see on their setups on disc... I say this with the intent of being hyperbolic for humor's sake, but high end systems like yours can polish a turd to a greater luster than more modest systems, but it is still what it is: a lower quality source. I use as many streaming services as just about anyone here, but just not as frequently. I would not spend a single cent on streaming if I really characterized it as viewing a turd. Streaming is simply my replacement for cable TV, but even cable TV was never my preferred viewing choice. We build elaborate home theater systems (within our individual resource constraints) to experience the best and not to prop up mediocre or "lesser than" sources. I did not spend what I have spent to then use a lower quality source when a higher quality source is available. As good as some streams can be, even high bitrate Sony Pictures Core Service, I have never seen one exceed, or even match, the quality of a corresponding disc presentation. Even if streaming quality were as good as the corresponding disc it would still be ephemeral vaporware conveying no control or ownership. I like having something, literally, to show for my money. |

When weighing physical vs digital, the tally chart for pros and cons are going to come down to individual priorities...
I can't argue against either ownership or overall quality.. physical is superior. .. but as a guy that loves movies ... that no longer attends the cinema... I'm usually busting to see a film as soon as possible... it then becomes a balance of quality vs wait time. On recent titles, I believe that the gap in quality is not great enough for me to see it at is earliest. I wouldn't trust a stream to be able to handle the grainfield on certain types of filmstock, but something shot on 2k digital... I'm good. Soundwise, I've explained my offset.. Now, if I could get everything at once - that would be awesome! Kaleidescape looks like a tempting offer more and more each day.. bit rates exceeding disc, early delivery dates etc.. |

Not that it compares with what Kaleidescape offers, but Greyhound is offered on Fandango At Home in 4K at the same price. Damn shame that there is no physical release after all of this time.

I watched this tonight:
![]() I was not very impressed. Low video bitrates that never exceeded 56 mbps. I usually don't check video bitrates unless I am amazed or disappointed; it was a bit the latter in this case. It is not that it is bad, but it is not anything special, either. I had to increase my customary volume setting +6 db to give the audio any semblance of life. We have another castrated Atmouse presentation here. Had I seen this 4K disc before buying it, I would not have bothered. I do not feel that it was worth the $41.99 that I paid for it. I will revisit my blu-ray copy soon to see if I can rationalize this purchase, but I doubt that I will change my mind. |

^You're linking to a bootleg copy; you should delete your post. Your ebay seller is located in Malaysia.
If you do a global search for this movie here at blu-ray.com you will find NO legitimate releases anywhere in the world. |

I wasn’t big on Greyhound or Master And Commander to be honest. They both had all the credentials, but just fell short for me.
Didn’t bother upgrading from. The DVD in the latter’s case. Watched Greyhound when it premiered, but not one I want to own in any future surprise release. |
