Awesome news from China:

BOX OFFICE: "Guardians Of The Galaxy" Opens Big In China
Ryan Ingram, Contributing Writer

They may be known as The Interplanetary Unusual Attack Team overseas, but wherever the "Guardians of the Galaxy" travel, they continue to break box office records.

According to The Wrap, the Disney-Marvel Studios film picked up $26.6 million dollars in its opening weekend in China, making it the country's strongest October box office debut. "Guardians of the Galaxy" has now taken in $687 million globally -- $361 million of that has been earned overseas. The Wrap also notes that the film is the third-highest Marvel-Disney opening in China, placing behind "Iron Man 3" and this year's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," each taking in $64.5 million and $38.8 million in their respective opening weekends. "Guardians" has also passed "Man of Steel's" global gross of $663 million.

Description of Alternate Guardians of the Galaxy Ending

From James Gunn:

Quote:
There are three characters that got cut out [of the "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" montage]: Nebula, the Collector and Grandpa Quill. Nebula and Collector we decided, at a certain point, they’re kind of bad guys in the first movie. It was a real joyous experience with that finale so we thought we’d keep it to the characters that were part of “the good team.” Which includes Yondu. He did fight on the good guys side. So we thought we would keep it to them.

Grandpa Quill we cut because he was in old age make up and we were a little afraid people wouldn’t recognize that it was him from the beginning of the movie. And also, it was a pretty sad moment. It was Grandpa Quill and he has this photograph of Meredith and Peter as a little boy and he looks up at the stars and we go up to the stars and it was really sweet. It means that he must have seen Quill getting abducted at the end of that day and is still waiting for him to return but it was freaking sad so we took it out.

Nebula’s was actually my favorite. Nebula’s I really liked a lot because she’s lost her arm and she’s just pissed off and she’s just walking through this field all pissed off with a busted Ravager vehicle behind her. And she’s just pissed off and I loved it.

Ever wanted a hoodie that gave you the appearance of a talking CGI raccoon? Well, you're in luck! Think Geek have produced a couple of pretty cool premium zip-hoodies in the likenesses of both Rocket and Star Lord from Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy.

James Gunn Says That Was Not Beta Ray Bill In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Wth I never even heard this...

Quote:
Half the Guardians of the Galaxy fanboys in the audience swore they glimpsed Beta Ray Bill in The Collector's museum and the other half swore it was not the heroic, Korbinite. Director James Gunn settles the matter once and for all.

One of the hot topics back when Guardians of the Galaxy was first released into theaters was whether Mjölnir weilder Beta Ray Bill made a cameo appearance in The Collector's (Benicio Del Toro) collection. Well, thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy now being available on digital, we have a clear look at the supposed cameo and a firm denial from Gunn. "That is totally NOT Beta Ray Bill," says Gunn.

“@duckisgod: That is totally Beta Ray Bill pic.twitter.com/veb4lNKMBg” THAT’S who you guys’re talking about? That is totally NOT Beta Ray Bill.
— James Gunn (@JamesGunn) November 17, 2014

Beta Ray Bill debuted in Thor #337 (Nov. 1983), being established as an alien belonging to a race known as the Korbinites. Beta Ray Bill was created by celebrate comic personality, Walt Simonson. Said Simonson, "I designed Bill deliberately as a monster, because I knew that people would look at it and go, "Oh my God, it's this evil guy." I deliberately wrote them so you weren't sure in the beginning if he was a good guy or a bad guy ... I chose the name for its alliterative qualities. Originally I was going to call him 'Beta Ray Jones' because I really wanted a common name. My feeling was Bill was Everyman for this alien race ... I deleted 'Jones' because ... there were too many Joneses floating around the Marvel Universe." After an initial rivalry with Thor Odinson for possession of Mjölnir , the alien warrior was granted a war hammer of his own by Odin, called Stormbreaker which is equal to Mjölnir in power and possesses the same prerequisites for wielding. Thor and Beta Ray Bill have been staunch allies throughout the pages of Marvel Comics for decades.
I'm a little sad. I would have LOVED Beta Ray Bill in the MCU, but alas it's been disproved before I even knew of the rumor... or has it??

Gunn says, " THAT’S who you guys’re talking about? That is totally NOT Beta Ray Bill. " Sooo... He could be in there somewhere?!?

GOTG: Check Out the Tracklist For "Awesome Mix Volume Zero"
Quote:
Yes, James Gunn has compiled an alternate Awesome Mix soundtrack to Guardians Of The Galaxy featuring much more contemporary tracks than the tunes from the 70s/80s we all fell in love with on the original. Take a look at the tracklist and an explanation from Gunn

Still a chance he may come around, there is another Thor movie coming and it the Phase 2 films are very "space centric" in theme, what with the Infinity Gauntlet and Thanos coming around. Still, since he didn't play a part in that event it would still be a stretch, but its a chance!!

Besides, I have his 1st appearance somewhere so I'm hoping he gets on film so it can skyrocket like Groot's did. I know the comic isn't mint, but if it becomes a big-money book it'd be worth getting graded and pawning on ebay!!

James Gunn Shares Cool GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY BTS Photos; Teases Unnoticed Easter Eggs
Quote:

Hit the jump and check out several Guardians of the Galaxy behind-the-scenes pics that James Gunn has posted to Instagram, and the director has also teased Easter eggs that have gone unnoticed.

In anticipation of the Guardians of the Galaxy Blu-ray/DVD release in the United States next month, December 9, James Gunn has been sharing more awesome production photos that highlight the prosthetics and designs that went into the sets as well as the background extras. In addition, the director told ComicBook that there are some Guardians Easter eggs that many have not noticed. "Yeah, there's definitely some things that people haven't seen," he said. "There's definitely one really big thing that people haven't seen, but they may never see it -- we'll see. There's other things, too. The other day, I posted on my Instagram a picture of the other guys going for the Infinity Stone in the temple of Morag and I didn't see anybody bringing that up until just a couple of weeks ago." He is referring the the first photo embedded below! Scroll down and check out all of the behind-the-scenes pics with James Gunn's infrormative captions! What do you think?
I can't stand waiting for these things to be released. I'm way too impatient.

The photo shown is part of the scene where the Collector is explaining the history of the infinity stones. All of the infinity stones are shown, with Groot standing in front of the tesseract and aether. I wonder what the "one really big thing" is.

Watched this film a couple of times, love it so much but 1 thing is annoying me.
When the team
[Show spoiler]get captures near the start and Peter gives the middle finger and says "Oh I'm sorry I didn't know how this machine worked" what does he mean?
In the trailer we see the machine alerting the fact that a rude gesture is about to occur and it blocks it etc. However, in the film nothing happens. We just see him roll up his middle finger and so his quote doesnt appear to make sense.
To be honest, even in the trailer I didn't quite get it.
