I don't have the passion for the material that most here seem to but this is the saddest part of this thing existing. All have done a lot more already!

Yes, forget the cover art entirely. Just a cover filled with these quotes should do the trick! I just wish Siskel and Ebert were still going because this would be an automatic "Two Thumbs Down!"

Well, pour capability in one hand and deuce in the other, see which hand fills up first. I will say the fact that this is most likely a poor FF movie won't keep me from enjoying it if it is otherwise a good movie. TDK is not a true Batman movie but the rest of it is so good I still enjoy it. Granted, not as much as I did in 2008.

This may be the winner.....

Finally! A superhero movie without action, character development OR
OR plot.

That's the movie making trifecta and shouldn't be easily dismissed.

So glad when I can go to a movie and be bothered with those 3 things.

I'm starting to think the source material just doesn't make for a good comic book movie. Sorry FF4 fans, but that may be a hard pill to swallow, but it may be time to accept it.

You can say "well Marvel could do it" or "Fox is just bad at it" all you want, but Fox has done just fine with X-Men, and looks like they're going to do just fine with Deadpool. They haven't used actors, directors, or writers of any lower caliber than they did on X-Men or Marvel used in the MCU.

Yet once again they fail to deliver.

Maybe it's time you just look critically at the source material and ask yourself if the problem isn't with the studio after all.

The quote conveys to the reader that the film is loaded with some real honest to good talent, but the final product leaves you wondering where that talent went.

Except in my opinion Kate Mara isn't a very talented actress and is just a pretty face.

Suicide Squad, Watchmen and Deadpool are all very hard material to adapt to the screen and yet, here we are. Don't blame the source material. Just because the themes of the Fantastic Four don't resonate with people as much as they used to doesn't mean they can't still work with the right people behind and in front of the camera.

I know. I still needed to express Nathan Fillion's disapproval at such an idea, even expressed jokingly.

Can't wait for the final 8 episodes!

I don't know, this could very well be the winner

"an assembly-line product, a movie a group of people made just because they could."

To be fair, that quote could apply to a lot of Hollywood movies.

I'm a FF comic fan, but I honestly enjoy the 2005 films. I thought they captured FF pretty well.

14%!?!

Wow!

I knew this movie was going to be bad, but I honestly would never have expected it to be this bad. I thought there would at least be some fans of it. I figured it'd get at least maybe a 50%.

So you're saying Trank is on the same level as Singer, Vaughn, Mangold, and Whedon and the cast is just as good as Jackman, Downey Jr., Fassbender, Stewart, McKellen etc.?

The movie is in freefall on RT. The best we can all hope for is more classic critic quotations.

"A dawdling indie drama, gussied up in superhero garb."

you cherry picked the best of the best. They've used a lot more people than just those you named, and done fine with it. Trank would probably rank mid pack in MCU directors as far as ability. MBJ and Teller would be upper third in acting talent at least.

It's looking less and less like "the critics are wrong because this movie is actually good, a la Jupiter Ascending" and more "this movie really is sub par".

Man, most movies can't even get one cover art worthy quote. Looks like the Fantastic Four really lucked out!

X-Men isn't really a good example seeing how they needed to make a movie who's sole purpose was to eliminate some of their movies. To redo the universe. That doesn't scream success. Plus, they really haven't made true X-Men movies. Fox is just horrible at comic book movies. It's not the source material.
