The Walmart exclusive would've been so cool and an instant purchase if BB-8 made a sound when you open the flap.

That makes more sense for Hallmark than Wal-Mart.

In my opinion, Disney implemented one of the best digital locker systems with DMA. It links to pretty much every major Digital HD provider.

I was finally able to merge titles I had on an old iTunes account with my current library. The old iTunes account had titles that were in SD, since blu-ray digital copies only redeemed in SD for awhile. Those titles showed up as HD titles when I merged everything (pleasant surprise). I have zero complaints about DMA.

I wish more providers would move to this model.

Because of a slip?

What about the Batman series starring Adam West? What about the zombie head edition of Walking Dead Season 2? What about Ben-Hur with a semi-copy of Charlton Heston's journal? How about that Alien collection from Japan where the discs came housed in an Alien head?

It's a nice slip for sure, but yeah. To say it's one of the best physical media exclusives in the last 30 years is insane.

Got two Standard Blu-ray editions -- one from Wal-Mart and one from Amazon. Both came with slipcases, but the Amazon one was stacked, whereas the Wal-Mart one was not.

This is really strange -- but lucky to have had a backup just in case!

I went to Wal-Mart to get The BB-8 Exclusive Slip. They had a lot of the Exclusive and alot of the Regular on a cool looking BB-8 Display. There was no chance of swapping case with the Reg edition as some of you have done or finding a regular edition with the 3-Disc case as every single copy BB-8 and Regular Edition were in Lock Box Cases. I like the BB-8 Slip it's pretty Cool. As for the case I think I have a 3-Disc Black case somewhere but if not I can always put the DVD in one of those white paper sleeves and put it in the case that way no stacked discs.

its a cheap piece of cardboard, they would have been better off it the artwork was just an exclusive slipcover like Walmart did with bb-8

I held the Target exclusive and its hella lite. Felt like holding a single piece of paper.

Got mine from Amazon with standard slipcover, but the discs are stacked. What a huge load of crap. Did this movie not make enough money to afford decent cases?

Thumbs down on stacking.

I looked like a total weirdo in wal-mart removing all the slips on the regular edition looking for the viva elite cases. It took awhile to find one.

All the BB8 editions seemed to have stacked discs but I bought one anyway since I want every edition. Will just keep that one sealed or use it as a lender copy.

Best Buy steelbook looks much nicer in person. I hope they eventually release a light side version with Rey to go along with it.

For all this, I hope we get an extended cut in December at least.
I would love to see all 20 mins of unused footage. it would be pretty great to not wait decades this time.

If you redeem your digital download on DisneyMovieRewards.go.com and make an account and link it up to iTunes, you can access all the special features plus the extra deleted scene.

Yeah, I'll take the slipcover, hold the case. What? $5 more for that? Sounds like a good deal to me. Target blows on this one.

And even when I found a slipcover that I could live with, I'd take it off to inspect the case and find something wrong with that.

At one point I think some of the employees started looking at me.

I was there for an hour going through all of their copies. 95% of them were either put out carelessly and therefore damaged, or were printed wrong.

Got my copy from Target today and mine weren't stacked surprisingly and instead was a viva elite case. It seems like Disney is going back and forth with using stacking and viva elite (my Inside Out Blu-ray was a viva as well).

I thought about getting the Target Exclusive, but it looked just hideous IMO.

You can't share your DMA titles the way you can with UV. UV allows up to 5 friends and family access to your library. In HD.

iTunes being limited to SD back then is their doing (back when they thought 720p was "good enough" and today with 4K they say 1080p is "good enough"). DMA didn't liberate your titles per se. My DMA titles appeared on Vudu when Disney & Vudu became partners in DMA. Certain titles are even Dolby Digital Plus 7.1, again something not offered by iTunes AFAIK.

Going to the Disney store they had all copies behind the counter and in pristine condition with the viva elite tray case. Took me 10 min in and out. Even better if you pre-ordered and got the nice lithographs to go with it.
