Bought my first digital copy in like a decade with the last man standing complete series for 7.99. I really don't know how that kind of deal makes them any money though as fandango in theory needs to give me like 50 years worth access for like two dollars and seventy two cents on a 194 episode show. Assuming I watch the show only once they need to provide each episode to me for 1.4 cents over decades.

Its why people are skeptical of VOD services the math isn't mathing and the fine print says we will screw you eventually.

I compared it to physical media, if it is streaming then there should be a lot more pros for K ( picture quality, audio ...)and less cons (ownership).

but like I said convenience is a funny meaningless term, it depend what you want to do. In my example I pointed out I brought 60 BDs to my sisters cottage but that worked because she has a BD player there, it is also why I did not bring UHD BDs there (no player). sapiendut has a strato M K system and just brings it with him and connects it tio the dispolay where he is and then he can just watch any coontent that is on it.

K works by account and the same account can be tied to 5 systems so you are wrong about needing to buy multiple copies all you will need to do is DL to the systems you want to watch it on

How long K takes to DL will depend on the persons internet speed, but if I remember correctly sapiendut said it takes him something like 10-15 minutes, a far cry from your couple of hours. Plus on the movie store (web interface) you can manage your DL so let's say you are at work and you know your GF will be at your place and you will see mean girls you can get on your phone, rent mean girls start the DL to your home and probably by the time you are ready to watch it will already be done DLing (no matter how slow your connection).

The ease of setup: Is more of a business problem then a consumer problem. your buying specialized hardware and setting up a server in your houses network. that probably removes 99% of potential customers as sadly a fair number cant set up a blu ray player when push comes to shove. it means market share likely wont ever grow and its kind of the main reason digital out performs physical. Make things simple and easy to use and that is enough for the majority of people.
I don't think anyone that buys K sets it up themselves
