Is she taking the rights back for both series or just one of them?

Rightstuf has the Sailor Moon Stars set 2 in stock, which means the series has been finally, finally, finally released in full in the Western Hemisphere. Woo! *Dances his happy dance*

So the 2nd half of Sailor Stars features english-dubbed/translated songs.

"Nagareboshi He" (known by some fans as "Search For Your Love") *
"Todokanu Omoi: My Friend's Love" *

*They're not on YouTube yet.

I'll pick up the last set soon, but not in a hurry since they only place in Canada that has it is Amazon Canada and the price is ridiculous. $80.00 + tax.

No way am I paying that much. I'll probably shop around ebay and wait for someone to list it for less.

So what will this mean for the new movies? Will Viz still release them or someone else?

I read on another forum that the rights being pulled were specifically for the original anime and not Crystal. However, the interviews on Stars: Part 2 includes Robbie Daymond (Tuxedo Mask) and he makes it sound like this was the end for him with anything Sailor Moon related. Maybe its just that it's too soon to even negotiate contracts for the films. In a legal sense, they may have signed the cast on for "Crystal" but since the films have a new title, it could mean new contracts for voice actors since those weren't known about when they did the casting in 2014.

Are there any images of the Sailor Moon series properly remastered in HD that aren't an upscale? Or cels? That'd be nice too, but the actual product never looks as good.

At this point I don't expect any distributor to do the right thing anymore.

The “Make-Up! Sailor Guardian" short on the R movie features footage from the TV show and is most definitely from a film source.

Has anyone else received Sailor Stars Part 2 yet? I'm curious if anyone else is having issues with the case. It seems to be made of cheaper plastic than the rest of the series and the discs don't stay on the spindles very well. It also makes it hard for the spine artwork to line up correctly so it looks funky in the chipboard box.

Haven't checked mine but the discs weren't loose and I just stuck it in my Part 1 box.

I need to get part 2 of stars but was waiting until tax return. I hope the stock doesn't dry up.

I got it and several of the discs were loose when I opened it. They didn't sound like they were loose, but upon opening they were. The hubs are not broken, but apparently don't hold the discs either. I am already thinking it will need a replacement case.

I mean calling the gay couple friends and then "Partners" would piss me off if I was an author. I wouldn't mind about the partners if Usage and Mamoru weren't labelled love.

Sounds like a Viz problem because the same thing happened with the recent Pokemon Diamond & Pearl cases.

My discs were loose as the arrows were pushed in, it was in a VIVA Elite case (some copies of Part 1 used a different case (mine was VIVA Elite), no idea if that same thing happened for Part 2). This isn't the only anime release I own that has that issue, multiple anime releases using VIVA Elite Blu-ray cases as well as their DVD variants, the arrows were pushed in, so the discs are loose (I can get some out without touching the hub, that kind of loose). It has to do with the hub design, those arrows are prone to have issues. They need to go back to these for multi-disc cases (they still use them on their 2 disc thinpak DVD cases), they apparently used these same hubs on multi-disc Blu-ray cases once upon a time. These aren't prone to having issues and are much higher quality. Sadly this is the only anime release in my collection with these hubs beyond stuff in thinpak cases that hold 2 discs per case (so mainly plenty of old FUNimation releases).
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...8#post16975838

Also worth noting, if the arrows on 1-2 disc VIVA cases can be pushed in, those are using thinner plastics than ones where the arrows don't push in. Ironically the eco-cases FUNimation used on their LEs in 2012 have thicker plastics than the non-eco cases they later moved towards. VIVA has been cutting a lot of costs, and they're still what most companies use for DVD and Blu-ray cases (especially as they're close, they're based in Canada), though as of late, FUNimation and Sentai have started using Vortex (Amaray) and this darker case that I can't figure out who makes them which has 5 small arrows rather than 4.

Didn’t have no discs loose in my set.

I really hope they do a replacement for this case. I just got my part 2 of Stars in and the discs will not stay in at all. Its pretty horrible.

Almost everyone of these sailor moon sets I've gotten over the years have been broken in some sense. So this doesn't surprise me. I usually just keep returning them to amazon until I get one that's not broken.

The problem with it in this case is, it's not really "broken." The case they used, the hubs are so small/weak that discs just won't stay on them, even though the hubs are intact. I figure it's easier to just get a replacement case from a different brand than try dealing with Amazon or whoever and hope it comes in a better case.
