A friend of a friend got me a spot for my second Raid party ever. I didn't find out until we were launching they were actually doing it on Hard. It pretty much went exactly like the first: I was pleasantly surprised by my ability to fulfill my limited roles, but the veterans couldn't get the really difficult stuff done. We made it to the Gate Lords and tried and tried for a long time, changing up teams, but just couldn't get it done. I did finally get some Raid armor: some boots and a chest piece, but I already had an exotic chest.

So I ran the raid last night, and everything was pretty much textbook up until Atheon. That's when our group completely fell apart. We had 2 newer guys that only raided once before, and both of them were the "at home" team killing Supplicants and never experienced the teleportation. It was pretty much a nightmare--confusion on who picks the relic up, not enough stopping power with 2 guys on oracles/pretorians, etc.

Bungies ultimate goal was to drastically reduce the number of people who defeat Atheon on Tuesday nights, as this was supposed to be the hardest thing yet Destiny has to offer. To that, they succeeded, but not by increasing the challenge or anything noble like that.

On top of all the confusion, we were still dealing with bad portal looping and relic glitches (the worst being the relic holder getting killed while holding up the relic during vengeance boost)--this is the stuff Bungie should have been working on, not "fixing" Atheon's teleportation that was never an issue to begin with.

After about an hour later (on just Atheon), we ended up killing him, and the best part is that I walked away with an Epilogue that I was hoping for.

TBH, raiding which was always a fun team based activity is really an exercise in frustration right now. There are way too many variables that can screw the team up at any minute to make this fun any more, and really only hurts new people or lower level people more than anything. I guess with an experienced team it shouldn't be a problem, but every group seems to have the one person using a rare Shingen-E as a primary or walking around with blue gear.

Invite your friends! They'll join your fireteam!

That's pretty much the only reason to keep playing is coop.

Hey man, I apologize for not accepting your invite Saturday. I went to orbit and went to cook some dinner. By the time I saw the invite, I saw you already had a full team for the Nightfall.

Well, it goes both ways too though. On one hand I have met some great people and enjoy playing with them, but on the other hand, I want to sit down and play a video game when I have time and not when 6 people with different lives all manage to converge on the same place at the same time.....it can be a PITA finding people to play YOUR game sometimes.

Yeah for a raid it could be definitely a chore to arrange a time. But strikes usually work out. Other than that, these days it's bounties, get a gold tier in a public event and finish the daily at the highest level. And farm to level up gear or weapons.

Of course I need to also work on my alts and level them up (currently levels 10 and 1). But I'll at least be able to re-experience the rich deep story like new.

Lol, I actually enjoyed starting a new character and playing through the "story." It was sooooo much harder doing strikes with the new character, some of them took a very long time compared to just running to the end like we do now. I still need to make a Hunter, but I do have some armor already waiting for him!

The first of two confirmed Destiny expansions, The Dark Below will include new weapons and gear to earn through new story, co-operative and multiplayer activities.

It will be priced at £19.99 standalone, although it can be purchased at a discount as part of the £34.99 Destiny Expansion Pass, which will also include the game's second major add-on pack, House of Wolves.

The Dark Below features

• New weapons, armour and gear to earn, including Legendary and Exotic items
• Light Level cap raised to 32 and five additional Bounty slots added
• New story quests and missions - after years hiding amongst the Hive shadows, a new character, Eris, has come forth bearing an ominous warning: The Hive seek to summon a god, Crota, to destroy the Earth. Find Eris in the Tower to take on special quests that include three new missions where you will increase your Light and earn new rewards
• New co-operative Strike, The Will of Crota, pits you and your Fireteam against Omnigul as she works to expand the Hive army at the command of her master, Crota
• New six-player Raid, Crota's End, set deep within the depths of the Hellmouth
• Three new competitive multiplayer arenas
• Pantheon - set deep within the Black Garden in an ancient Vex temple that features Vex-designed landscapes and tight corridors
• Skyshock - an old interplanetary defence array that offers both vehicle and infantry engagements
• The Cauldron - an abandoned Hive ritual site that offers close-quarter combat
• PlayStation platforms will also get access to an exclusive co-operative Strike, The Undying Mind and an exotic weapon, and more (timed exclusive until at least Autumn 2015)

Yeah, leveling up my Hunter, I forgot it there were some definite hard parts. I got legendary and exotic gear for a Hunter and Titan sitting in the vaults

My Alt is Level 5, anybody with a lowlevel alt want to co-op later? I tried a L6 mission at L4 early today and got my ass handed to me by Stealth vandals, sheesh.

I got a level 10 Hunter and may be on in the afternoon before the World Series. Or maybe during if the game goes as bad as last night.

Did the Raid on normal and Nightfall. Got the Epilogue, Monte Carlo, The Last Word, and Found Verdict? Sadly no Raid Armor except for a 2nd Chest piece. I'll use the Epilogue mostly and keep the Icebreaker as my exotic.
