* Last comment: Different, but entertaining nonetheless. ...And really unlikely.
But that's what movies are all about right. ...A twist of fiction with unreality!
I thought it was ok. The third time it rewound and went back, people in the theater started laughing. Then people started getting kinda annoyed, lol. I loved the line at the end when he opens the truck door and says "Sir, I've GOT YOU".

so cheezy

[Show spoiler]I believe that the lead guy met the woman last year at Marienbad, while she was with her significant other--the creepy guy. They had an affair, he caught them, then he killed the lead guy but it was never proven. The lead guy is a ghost and has been waiting to see her again. She has forced his death out of her mind, the way many trauma victims attempt to do. He tries to convince her that they did indeed meet and fall in love last year. The last few scenes of the film, imo, show that he was a ghost and that he is to wander the halls of that hotel/chateau for eternity, just hoping she will come back and he can spend time with her. In a way, it's like a mini-loop! This isn't hell like in Triangle, but still. I like this interpretation and I'm gonna stick with it (since there is no correct interpretation) because I think it's at once tragic and very romantic.
Ahh interesting look at it. I think this movie will be a lot more enjoyable the next time I see it

Playtime (blu) (Criterion)

PQ: 4.5 (out of 5)

AQ: 3.5 (out of 5)

Film: 3 1/2 stars (out of 4)

There aren't too many films that are truly unique, but this one is. This is an absolutely genius film, and the attention to detail is extraordinary. I cannot recommend it enough. Thanks goes out to surfdude for the high recommendation.

I just saw Predators. Not exactly a cinematic masterpiece, but a solid action/sci-fi flick IMO. 4/5

After it was over, I realized that I kinda liked the style of the film and the mood, but if I understood the bloody thing, I might actually appreciate it more! After just watching 8 1/2 and this, I'd say that I'd probably be a lot more fond of Marienbad if I came to understand it. The lady was pretty good lookin though, so that helped some lol

Jhiggy, wanna help me out on this one

Forget it and just play that crazy card game whenever your drunk and have friends over. That game creates insane people.

Pretty good. That would maybe explain the cinematography choices, especially the very floaty beginning sequence. Christ, i never thought it would end.

[Show spoiler]
3 rape scenes

I enjoyed tremendously. I wouldn't call the story original or unique by any means but the execution is brilliant. It reminded me of Tell No One, which I would still say is a better film, but don't miss out on this. Just make sure you aren't with the girlfriend/wife/kids when you watch this.

My wife didn't even blink. I think i hyped up the rape scenes to "unwatchable" levels.
[Show spoiler] Anyone notice how well the "action" scenes were edited? Like when Bloomqvist (sic) is in Harold's house and Harold sneaks up behind him. It's almost like several frames are missing. We go from seeing Harold in the shadows, to knowing that all he has to do is take a couple more steps and he's on top of Bloomqvist, but just before that thought is fully conceived.....BAAAAMMMMM!!!!! Harold is already there. The director develops a cadence or a sort of rhythm to Harold's approach, but then we get the blow to the head a couple frames sooner than we should have. I hope someone understands and could possibly word it better because i think it's one of the best moments in the movie. Other than that creepy bastard Martin explaining, "It's only a logical consequence of the rape when i put them down. There can be no witnesses." Did i mention i hate murdering, rapist, nazi's? Oh yeah, i also think Bloomqvist's reaction to the face punch from Martin is great. It's like he's froze in terror. I also like how Martin's visage is shown from Bloomqvist's point of view. This blurry, hulking, disheveled devil. What a freak.

I know this wasn't directed at me but I thought I would answer it anyways.

Toy Story 3 for me was more of a tearjerker for me because the characters, story, setting has been established for two previous films. For myself it was more of an emotional investment. I was a kid when the first films came out and it was easy for me to relate to the toys. Like Andy, my days with playing toys are long gone. Watching TS3 felt like opening a door to my childhood all over again much in the way that Andy did
[Show spoiler]when he opened his chest of toys at the beginning
**I would say it's hardly a spoiler, but I want to be respectful to readers**.

Toy Story 3 and Up represent completely different aspects of life. I believe younger people can relate to Toy Story 3 while older people relate to Up more. Sure younger kids can understand the themes of Up, but not on an emotional level to somebody that is married or has lost a loved one. So for me the answer is Toy Story 3.

Ahhhh you reminded me of a scene that I LOVED when I first saw it. The editing in that scene is incredible. Nothing against TDK, but the editing is much better here

Kung Fu Panda

Movie -10/10 Its best Dreamworks movie IMO. The 3rd one on my all time favorite animation list after Ratatouille and Wall-e.

PQ - 10/10 That simple.

AQ - 10/10 It had one of the best surround soundtrack usage I have ever heard.

Overall 10/10.

P.S. I may sound crazy but KFP is one of the most underrated animations IMO.
