Read the post you replied to again. You apparently have an Apple TV 3 or older that doesn't support apps at all. The app store was newly introduced with the Apple TV 4. Your claim that somehow Apple was making Apple TV apps obsolete by dropping support for older models is baseless, since there is only one model so far that supports apps in the first place. I'm willing to bet that apps will continue working on the current Apple TV 4 for years even after newer models are introduced. Apple is actually pretty good at supporting older hardware.

Yes, I do see the negative. I see a format I love under threat from a format that is inferior in every way. What is there to be positive about?
Well it's official, Streaming Video has gone Main Stream, my Local Paper has an Article on it.

http://saintgeorgespectrum.ut.newsme...id_subscriber&

It's in the Sport Section B6, The TV-Streaming Paradox. Talking about the Future of TV, where everyone is jumping on the Streaming Bandwagon. Like I said, Technology waits for no one. If you haven't come on board with Streaming Video, you are left in The Dust!

The article doesn't mention Vudu and why are they interviewing Son of Sam on his streaming choices? It is the 40th anniversary, but really?

The Article mostly has to do with Cord Cutters, and how it's going to be confusing and just as costly. As Streaming Video comes more into play, I can see where the Average Person is going to have some problems. Especially for those that don't want to use the Smart TV Features, they are going to need STB's for everything. Then you combine that with Low Bandwidth and Wireless, I see many problems. The Major Streaming Providers see Content as a Driving Force, Original Programming will take Front Stage!

I am currently visiting a friend in Texas, and I have almost several movies on Vudu. We tried to watch one last night and the streaming kept buffering almost every 5 minutes, and Netflix was no better.

Only hours earlier, it worked perfect without any trouble.

If I had my physical disk with me, I would have avoided the entire frustrating situation and we would have simply watched Bluray.

I can see where streaming CAN be convenient, but it's still riddled with too many problems to become the number one choice for most people.

I was strictly physical at first and still have a good chunk of my collection. Steelbooks, older movies, etc.

But streaming is just so convenient and its easy to find deals for UV codes. On here alone you can get tons of movies for a fraction of the cost.

Our internet connection is fantastic and I have unlimited data on my phone so I've never had any issues but I can see how it can be frustrating for some who have data caps or lower speeds,

They don't take up any space (physical) either!

I'm going all digital from here on out.

That's the same situation I faced when I tried Digital. On most people's internet it is still too inconsistent.

For me, the convenience and space saving of digital are the main reasons I've decided to purchase all movies digitally.

For the ones I love (a much smaller subset), I will pick up the physical media, for different cuts of the film on the same disc, and the extras. Some AIV movies have the latter, but they're stuck at the end of the movie and have to be navigated like a VHS tape.

I use the same strategy for my books. My reading copies are always ebooks, but for ones I love, like A Song of Ice and Fire, I have the hardcovers.

iTunes usually includes multiple cuts, and the extras are accessible like a DVD/Blu-ray menu. Overall, iTunes is my provider of choice, but I show VUDU and Amazon some love too. VUDU has UHD and UV and even extras some of the time, so they deserve my attention. Amazon has good deals sometimes and their quality is solid, like the others, so I go with them when the mood/deal strikes me.

I go back and forth a lot about whether I've gone all-Digital, but I'd say I'm there. I won't get rid of my existing physical copies, but I don't really wish to add anything more to my shelves. Just about everything I need is on Digital. I wish it was all available to own, though (cough Seinfeld cough).

Hmm I prefer having all of my stuff in one spot, so I don't have to remember where I bought what. Minor inconvenience.

That's understandable. I'm weird. When it comes to my movies, I know where they all are, for the most part. I may not remember much, but when it comes to movies, I'm like a computer.

Yeah, I first started with iTunes but switched to VUDU because not all of the extra digital codes for blu-rays were able to be redeemed on iTunes. I dropped iTunes pretty much all together because of that reason as well as how limited access to those libraries are since iTunes is only available on Apple products.

I don't hate Apple products (I do hate their business practices though) but I do prefer accessibility over preferences which is why I dropped Apple as my digital retailer for films and shows.

Yea Master knows I don't hate Apple Products either, but I don't like their Proprietary ways. Apple still has that Steve Jobs Mentality, give them good products and hold on to all your Customers. The way things are going with Streaming Video if you have an Apple TV, you're going to need a Ton of STB's. I do think you need two Streaming Providers, one Subscription like Amazon, iTunes, or Netflix, and one like Vudu to handle your UV Movies.

I get that argument. It's annoying having both a Roku and Apple TV to access everything at the quality I want them, so I look forward to the Apple TV adding Amazon and VUDU this year. Still, there might be other apps/functions that can only be found on the Roku. I hope not, though.

I am ambivalent to Apple products (like the iPad, use an iPhone, but prefer Google/Samsung phones over it, never had a Mac), and buy 90% of my music there, but greatly prefer the Roku to the Apple TV. The Roku interface and remote are just much easier and more user-friendly in my opinion. That means that most of our viewing is Vudu. I think Vudu might be slightly higher quality in terms of picture quality and sound on my setup, but both are more than acceptable.

Vudu is absolutely niche. There are more popular digital storefronts and digital HD itself is not exactly breaking records for the industry. It's niche, sorry.

I love the BS comm t as well. In the short time I have read your posts across the forum, I don't think I have ever read more bullshit than yours lol.

I don't think I have ever seen so much paranoia over movies as your posts.

What works in the US is different than the UK.
