@King Crimson:
If you look at the Japanese BD set's bonus features listing you can see that the AR Rush videos for Rebirth and Air occupy separate line items.
As for the 22x audio tracks in 5.1 audio, it's just like how it sounds. There's a 59-minute long video title that has all 22 songs running back-to-back with chapter stops, with the only visual content being the name of the track currently being played displayed in white on a black screen. For the Renewal Vol. 8 DVD there wasn't a menu option that allowed you to go directly to a given track, but that deficiency was remedied in the JP Blu-ray set's Disc #7. I'll also PM you regarding your request at the end of your previous post. Last edited by svenge; 09-01-2021 at 04:41 PM. |

Does anybody know if the classic or official dubs have English closed captioning? I have a slight hearing impairment so I often leave subtitles on. It’s so annoying though when I’m watching dubbed anime and the only available English subtitles only work with the Japanese track…

Aren't you the guy who was arguing against buying the JP bluray set earlier in this thread? I'm asking cause I'm confused, not trying to be contentious.

I wasn't arguing against it I was asking why do people buy it if they rip the discs, I was trying to understand how they do, why they do it, get info on how they do it / watch it with subs etc or burn modified ISO's, but got quickly modded and accused of supporting stealing IP even though in the past week I've bought the UC, the Archives of Eva DVD box and the Blu-ray Box set, go figure.

I don't recall it in Death (unless maybe it is playing in Shinji's walkman? I haven't watched Death since I was a kid), so I did a quick google and it does have an instrumental version of it in the score (track 11 on the OST, alternative arrangement of track 13 on OST III)
[Show spoiler] .

Well Well well, I'm VERY HAPPY to announce that OPPO 103D can use subtitle srt files from a usb stick, though none of the subtitles I found are properly sync'd to the Eva blu-ray box so I will need to resync everything, but this makes me very happy
Also I run a 5.1 setup through a 3.1 sound bar and LR and RR speakers, the codec for the bluray is LPCM but Im getting no audio from the center channel on 2 different tvs with similar surround sound setups, does anyone get a center channel use for those that have the Blu-ray box when listening in 5.1? the DD 5.1 from the platinum set mix's perfectly through the soundbar regardless. Yeah I just checked the manual for my models, only LPCM 2.0 supported for LPCM !@#$ Last edited by King Crimson; 09-03-2021 at 10:22 PM. |

Can't you use the phono outs on the Oppo to feed the individual channels on the soundbar?

I sure hope so. I've learned a lot about audio syncing through Adobe Premiere in the last few months and have actually synced the ADV dub to the BD source. I know there are fan options for the dub, but all were not properly synced. Besides, I wanted to do it myself to practice. It's used during Kaji's phone message to Misato. I believe this is the correct notes I wrote: 53:34.900ms - 54:15.251ms - [B4 - The Sorrow of Losing the Object of One's Dependence II] |

To be honest, Spike Spencer's performance turned off on the original dub so I've only ever watched Eva subbed.
(full disclosure: my brother owns ADV's Platinum Edition set and the Manga DVDs of the movies) Also, "Fly Me to the Moon" is a song I associate with the franchise but I understand why it's missing. |
