The LE Bat Cowl edition is back in stock at Amazon. No idea if it's still the one that's limited to 35K though as Amazon doesn't appear to have any stock issues (i.e. over 999 available)

But... what?

This movie was a disappointment for a substantial portion of its audience and was noticeably less well-received than its predecessors regardless of what accolades it's defenders cherry-pick.

Do you think the common perception that this movie was a disappointment is just gonna vanish because of AFI? No.

Doesn't matter what I think. Typically yearly AFI top 10's lead to Oscar nods, which can only boost the films popularity.

Don't shoot the messenger.

It was a disappointment for some because expectations were so (unachievably) high. That's the same reason it was less well-received. AFI isn't comparing it to the first two in the trilogy, they're comparing it to the rest of 2012. I think most of us can agree this was one of the best of the year.

I thought it was very good! Of course I don't represent the AFI, or the population of the world(probably a good thing on both counts).
I believe it was because of TDK, that the Oscars expanded to 10 Best Picture nominees. As it just missed being nominated that year.
I'm already pulling for Zero Dark Thirty to win!

I like The Dark Knight Rises, so I'm merely playing Devil's Advocate here, but that means nothing. Millie Vanilli had a #1 record and won a Grammy. That's all I have to say about that.

Oscar/apple
Grammy/orange

And that's all I have to say about that.

+1! (This was a trick question, right? )

Butt What?

But maybe this movie wasn't such "a disappointment for a substantial portion of its audience". Maybe you're just disgruntled because your take on this was "a disappointment for a substantial portion of its audience". We'll add it all up and see who's cherry-picking what in the end, pardner.

Except that they are not apples to oranges. Not at all. AT ALL. They are exactly the same.

I love TDKR for so many reasons and probably always will, I don't care if other people think it sucks or prefer TDK or BB. Been a Batman fan for pretty much my entire life, ever since I saw Batman in theatres in 1989. He, Wolverine and Spider-Man are still my favourite comic book heroes.

Michael Keaton. Because he captured the duality of the character the best.

He did such a good job that you would never assume that his Bruce Wayne was Batman. Marvelous job.

And he didn't need to be a complete drunken rich playboy spaz in public like Bale was in Batman Begins. Or growl like he smoked 2 packs a day.

They are the same in award stature only. What goes into being nominated and then, ultimately, winning them are very different.

Still Michael Keaton. Nolan's Batman Trilogy was Bruce Wayne's story, which is why I think Bale is the better Wayne.

That and I'll never get over that stupid Batman voice.

I like everyone that played Batman, over the years, on TV & in the movies! They all brought something different to the table, and I appreciate them all for their contributions to the character.

I prefer Keaton. Especially Batman Returns Keaton as Batman/Wayne.

Where are you getting this from? BRDC says "Not available to order" and Amazon says other vendors only (4 "Used", 19 "Collectable" - from $149.95).

I just don't see it. They are nominated, judged and awarded by a panel based on criteria of which we have no real knowledge. The ONLY discernable difference is that one is movies and one is music. Other than that, they are, for all intents and purposes, twins.
