This Houston team reminds me a lot of that 2007 Hawaii team from several years ago that went 12-0 only to get annihilated 41-10 by Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Both teams put up crazy passing and scoring numbers only to get smashed once they played a legit team for once.

Had Houston won today they likely would have played Michigan in the Sugar Bowl. Michigan probably would have wiped the floor with them.

From what I'm hearing TCU might be the big beneficiary of Houston losing today. Sounds like there's a good chance they get a BCS game spot. Apparently Boise St. can't get a BCS bid despite their higher ranking because TCU won the conference.

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely will watch. I always watch most of the BCS level bowl games and national title game.

According to oddsmakers it appears LSU is opening as a 1.5 point favorite for the BCS national championship over Alabama. Sounds about right. It's an evenly-matched game. Over/Under is 40, which seems a bit high to me.

hoping for LSU/OKST

LSU is just plain scary. If they win the title they'll go down as a top 5 team of all time because of the schedule they had to face. No matter who they play it'll be their FOURTH top 3 opponent this year. That's insane.

Their schedule has been brutal. I still wouldn't call them a top-5 team all-time though. Even top-10 all-time is a stretch.

Then what would make this Bama team all time top 10? Because LSU only beat them due to a crappy kicker in OT

This Alabama team isn't top-20 all-time let alone top-10 even if they crush LSU in the BCS title game. They're aren't even in the same league as the 2009 Alabama championship team. The 2009 Bama team went undefeated and crushed what was probably Tebow's best Gators team in the SEC Title game.

And by the way, LSU's schedule coming into this week was only ranked 20th in the national in strength of schedule. Alabama's worse at 35th.

Some people will watch yes. Some will not.

There's no way in hell I'm going to watch it. I truly hope that if the game is Alabama LSU it sets a record for worst rating for a championship game ever, just to stick it to the BCS.

Record low rating for a BCS title game was in 2004 when USC stomped Oklahoma 55-19. And that game had a lot of very high-profile players, unlike this year's LSU-Alabama game. I don't really see a big draw for this game. It should be near the bottom in ratings for a title game unless it turns out to be some high-scoring epic that nobody actually thinks it will be.

After second thought that 2004 title game was the one Ashlee Simpson performed at halftime and was so bad she got booed off the stage. That probably caused a ratings decline in the 2nd half.

i'm only talking about the amount teams ranked #3 or above that i've seen a team face in a season. Oregon, Alabama, Arkansas, and whoever they play in the BCS Title game. That would be almost unheard of for a team to go 4-0 in that type of situation. It would easily put LSU in the conversation for Top 5 of all time no matter how badly they compare to teams from the past.

I doubt we'll even see Bama in after the stomping Ok State put on Oklahoma, shame Oklahoma States got to go get smashed

LMAO @ Vtech fail again when you have to play a decent team

Ok State should move up regardless of how I feel about it. You beat a ranked top10 team by 34 you deserve to move up a spot

Yuck... Clemson, West Virginia and maybe TCU all get BCS spots? Well I suppose it would have been even worse had Houston won today.

If I had a vote I'd vote 1. LSU, 2. Oklahoma St., 3. Alabama. But especially given how the computer polls are factored in it's guaranteed to be LSU-Alabama.

The computer polls already had Alabama and OK State as a tossup before today. Expect Ok State to be a solid #2 in computers after today.

So it all comes down to the human voters.

Ok, looks like you are correct. Oklahoma St. should jump ahead of Alabama with the computer polls. The human poll gap just appears far too large. I never have much faith in the coaches poll. I'll bet they still keep Alabama ahead of OK St.

How bout 'em. Last 2 weeks didn't mean sh!t. Last week hurt but this week was a beat down again. I'll say it, WE WANT 'BAMA, and if you don't like it Dabo don't care! WE WANT 'BAMA!

So from what I've read, filling in some blanks it looks like these are the most likely BCS match ups.

National Title Game - LSU vs. Alabama
Orange Bowl - Clemson vs. West Virginia
Fiesta Bowl - Oklahoma St. vs. Stanford
Sugar Bowl - Michigan vs. TCU(?)
Rose Bowl - Wisconsin vs. Oregon

The biggest question mark is who takes the spot Houston would have received had they not lost today. Sounds like the most likely team is TCU.

Sounds like you get the Orange Bowl against West Virginia. I'd actually give Clemson a slight edge in that one. WV is only in it due to the lousy Big East conference.

i think it'll be lsu vs. oklahoma state for the bcs championship. oklahoma state's huge win over oklahoma is just too much to be ignored by the ANY poll, human or computer. they should jump 'BAMA and move up to the #2 spot to play lsu in new orleans in january.

and i think 'BAMA will get an invite to the sugar bowl to play michigan; which i would love. those are two legendary schools with good teams that would pull in pretty good ratings.

and just in case anyone is wondering, i AM an ALABAMA fan. i would love nothing more than a chance to play for a national championship, but i just don't think it'll happen. oklahoma state's win today against a top-20 team was too big to go unnoticed and i believe they'll get the nod over 'BAMA.

I'd LOVE for you to be right. I've just been let down by the BCS too many times. The coaches poll is especially inaccurate and seems likely to keep Alabama ahead of OK St. Well... we'll know tomorrow. Hope the system gets it right for once.
