Biggest LFE disappointment since Revenge of the Sith on DVD The low end was not convincing considering the action on screen

I watched it last night. A good eye and ear candy action flick. Nothing more, nothing less. Glad I bought it.

My friend bought me the 2 disc special edition from Target but it turned out to be the 3 disc special edition. As afar as the movie I really enjoyed it. I thought it was action packed and for the length I was really surprised I was not ready for it to end. I think it's a great addition to anyone's collection.

I have this on Netflix Long Wait... hope to check it out soon. I'm just expecting a fun action movie with not a whole lot of logic.

I had some family members coming to the house and bought the Blu-ray. Had a good time watching it with the family; although, the last 45 minutes were tough to watch for the second time. My HT got a nice workout as the AQ and PQ did not disappoint.

Could you imagine film directed by BOTH Roland Emmerich and Micheal Bay? Twice the destruction!

I'm sure I'll buy it but I simply can't give this movie a pass. The special effects were great fun and looked amazing, but I really wish they would have shot the limo and plane scenes with some semblance of realism. I'm not being critical of what it looked like as much as the constant death defying ridiculousness of it all. It was just too absurd.

Getting past all of that, the kids terrible acting and cheesiness (the little girl was the worst) made me .

As we all know, there are many factors that need to come together to make a great movie and this one fell short imho.

My Dad loved it though... go figure.

My bother in law and sister in law just watched it and loved it also. I also got a lot of complements on my sound system . Happy with the purchase. I imagine that this release will score a very large percentage of total sales from the Blu-ray format.

Bought it today. Picked it up and realized I havent been on here in a while.

Rolland Emmerich is a decent director, but the movie looks like garbage.

So I watched this movie on Friday. After reading several negative comments. I thought this movie was pretty good. There's some annoying parts, but overall I was pretty happy with this blind buy.

Obviously it doesn't cost a mint but maybe some folks are so starved for movies with good PQ and AQ on BD the last few months that most anything would suffice?

No problem then for the studios I suppose. Just release most anything to the format with good quality and they will come!

I've recently bought the movie on Best Buy last Friday and I watched it yesterday (I had the stomach flu, so I didn't get a chance to pop it in after I got it). Surprisingly, the movie was a delight, even if it's just for the PQ and AQ itself (mostly the AQ, since it's a disaster movie ).

Now to point out some flaws: not to spoil anything, but Roland Emmerich is notorious for being scientifically inaccurate with his movies (such as in the case of The Day After Tomorrow and 10,000 BC), and there are some scenes I just start to veer away from all the chaos and excitement. Also, the PQ seemed a bit grainy at parts, but it's still presents a great picture.

Overall, I give this package a 4.75/5

I watched this movie Friday night. The PQ and AQ are obviously top notch, but the movie in general was awful. The destruction of the Earth was a site to behold, but the acting and story was just, awful. The notion that some cataclysmic event could destroy the whole planet is a FUN idea, and that is the part of the movie I did enjoy. The first 40 minutes just DRAGGED on, and most of it wasn't needed.

The acting and story I give a 1.5/5
The destruction of the Earth I give a 4.5/5
AQ: 5/5
PQ: 5/5

[SPOILER]There were a few parts that I laughed pretty hard at. When the russian guy and his two kids (I can't remember their names) were leaving to board the plane to go to the arcs, I blurted out "great, the world is going to be repopulated by THOSE two kids? John Cusak also jumped three vehicles, and their were three airplane takeoff scenes that were %100 the same. [SPOILER]

I would say that the PQ was obviously above average, but certainly not 5/5 and the audio was a let down due to the weak low end and that was obviously not a 5/5 either. I would say 4/5 for both PQ/AQ. This one should have rivaled the best LFE films on blu ray, but hell its not even close

Bought it yesterday and watched. It was a ridiculous movie of course but I enjoyed it and took it for what it was. Mindless action movie for a typical Saturday night. The AQ was amazing and had my walls rattling. The last 30 minutes was just ridulous and not needed. That sh!t could've easily been chopped down.

Just got done watching this. Reference PQ/AQ obviously. But the movie itself is nonsensical beyond all reproach. I didn't go into this movie expecting the most logical plotline, so that helped me look past the stupidity and concentrate on the incredible nightmarish destruction taking place in nearly every scene. I don't feel it was the worst movie I'd ever seen, but I can admit that if not for the SFX, it would have been a chore to get through. This movie did NOT need to be 2hr 30mins lol.

Thank god for Netflix. Great rental...waste of money as a purchase imo.

My scoring and definition of audio and video quality are obviously different than yours. There was plenty of LFE in the movie to more than make me happy, and there was never a moment when I thought the picture quality was lacking or distracting in any scene. The whole sound stage was also VERY active during action scenes, which also makes me insanely happy

If I had a bigger TV then possibly (most likely) I'd find some minor imperfections that would would detract points from my score, but on my TV, I saw none.
