You could get the dvd on netflix. It was probably the finest upscale dvd I've seen yet.

District 9.

Film: 3 stars (out of 4)

PQ: 4.5 stars (out of 5)

AQ: 5 stars (out of 5)

Good film that's really only good because of its obvious allegory. If it were not for that, it wouldn't be a good film. But then again, that was the entire intention of the film.

I really didn't care about any characters or what happened. The first hour was very mediocre, but the last hour was entertaining enough. I particularly like the last shot of the film. So, a good movie but nothing more. Certainly not of best picture nominee quality, ten films or not. Avatar, while also not a best picture quality film, was a much better film.

So far of the films I've seen from last year (mind you I haven't seen many so my opinion means very little), The Cove is far and away the best. I still have many to see, with Moon, The Hurt Locker, and A Single Man (not a Serious Man--dislike the Coen brothers) being my top three to see. I find it hard to believe that any film will exceed The Cove, which is a lock for best documentary, and is arguably the best documentary ever made.

The Wolfman- 7/10

Percy Jackson Lightning Thief- 1/10. The worst adaptation of a book that I have ever seen.

The Last Film i watched Was Reservoir dogs. i had seen bits and pieces in my lifetime
but i had never actully watched the entire film.
I found myself glued to the television just in awe at how amazing the film was.
It was very much alike "Pulp Fiction" for me. And i think Quentin is just a genious film-director.
I loved all the scenes i love the script work. i thought alot of the suspence was amazing. and it was insane that Orange was the Undercover Agent The whole time.
and The scene with Blondie and The Ear. was Priceless

5/5 one of the greatest Crime films in Cinema History
But what can you say? QT is one of Cinema's Legendary Directors

ps. this film inspired me in alot of ways much like Pulp..

Pandorum - 3.5/10 I just didn't enjoy the movie that much. The motives of the characters weren't entirely clear, the pacing was very uneven, the monster designs were beyond stupid and the dialogue and acting were below average. At least it looked and sounded great.

Surrogates: 6.8/10

An entertaining one, but something you will just forget. Also, what annoys me were the abuse of dutch angles (tilted camera angles).

District 9 was the last film I saw and I'd write a review, but Jhiggy pretty much wrote exactly how I felt about it, but more eloquently.

The Proposal...Wife wanted to see it.

2/5 Movie
3/5 PQ
? AQ as we watched it with audio through the TV not the receiver. (Kids sleeping)

Just another typical Hollywood cookie cutter for the masses.

That's about where I am with BHD. I guess I had heard so many good things about it that I was expecting it to be something more than just a war movie, but that is pretty much what it is. Just a war movie.

Citizen Kane 10/10

If anybody doesn't understand why the movie is praised so much, watch it with the Ebert audio commentary, and by the end you'll know why.
