And chances are far more likely than not at this point, that they never will.

I think "Goonies" fans will still be able to manage without them though...

I can see why the octopus scene was cut for looking silly, but I really like the rest. The convenience store scene showed Bran as a protector figure and it's enjoyable to see an old store like that. There are a bunch of other brief moments in the film that were cut like Sloth and Chunk catching up with the rest of the Goonies underground, Data trying to use some binocular gadget, and some other scenes. I think Goonies is a popular enough film to justify a new release. People in their twenties are still very fond of it after having seen it as kids. It's sad that there are extended/alternate cuts available for garbage like Alien 3, Watchmen, and Daredevil but not this gem.

Whoa! whoa!! whoa!!! Watchmen is garbage? Quite possibly the greatest graphic novel ever made?? The movie is extremely faithful to the novel, other than the actual agent of change and Adrian's speech at the end. I'm not saying that it's Citizen Kane, but garbage?

Yes, I agree that Watchmen is garbage. Actually, it is one of the most overrated movies ever made, IMO. I went to see it when it was in theaters and almost walked out. It was THAT bad!

Fry's and Best Buy still have them in stores when I've gone in to both. Not sure if there is a Fry's near where she is in Florida, but Target would be another place to check too.

May I ask somethingh to anyone that has purchased the US Bluray of Goonies?

Does it include plain English subtitles too, besides the hearing impaired?
The German release says it does include both but i was interested in the US release..

Get it for $15 online at gohastings! My local hastings store actually had it for only $13 for some reason.

I'm not sure why this is so hard for people to get. The movie money release has absolutely nothing to do with the rumored 30th anniversary release.

I'm thinking there will still be a 30th anniversary release. My hope is a Diamond Luxe edition, probably just in time to fit under the Christmas tree.

I just don't understand why they would release a $8.99 version (with a 6/9 release date) when the 30th is "supposed" to come out this year? Did the 2011 release sell out or something??
