New PS3 Model (CECH-4000)

Got mine! This is the first real PS3 to call my own. Took a few pics, gonna run out and get some psn cards. God I've waited so long for a white ps3. A trivial thing, but I just love how white electronics look...

It's really annoying when you slide the lid shut and it doesn't register. So your disc is sat in the PS3 but the PS3 doesnt try loading it.

It's happened twice now, it's as if it hasn't registered that the lids shut

It's not my first time, it's been an easy couple hundred times opening and closing it and it's happened twice. So it's not common, but enough to bug the shit out of you when it happens.

I can definitely see where that would be annoying. I've used mine quite a bit (pulling full-time duty as blu-ray player as well as gaming machine) and I haven't experienced this problem as yet.

I really hope the PS4 goes back to slot loading, or at least a......disc tray.

I just saw that on IGN a few minutes ago. It actually looks pretty cool, it might be time to pick up a 2nd PS3. You know, so I can watch blu rays in the bedroom

Woulda been cooler in like a stone or graphite type colour

Ah well, Guess I'll just buy Ascension on it's own and hope my original launch PS3 holds out till the PS4 arrives...

Bc it comes with GoW and thats the color associated with the series

Big fail on this being $349. Sony STOP releasing expensive bundles. At this point $299 is the most any PS3 should cost. Releaseing one now that is $50 more than the current most expensive version seems counterproductive and makes this bundle seem like less of a deal

how does the ps3 superslim handle blu ray movies?

I want to get this over a standalone but only if it doesnt have any major hiccups... i need something to watch bd's while i wait for the ps4

It plays them fine just like the other PS3 systems. I've had my super slim since the super slim line has been released (i upgraded from my old original 60gb ps3) and there haven't been any hiccups!
