Blu-ray buyers would actually buy blu's there if they switched up their stock. I went to Walmarts lots of times in 2012 to browse the blus and the selection was always the same.

Found the same thing in a local store yesterday too. Not only were the Blu-ray racks now holding DVDs, but the little shelf space that did have Blus were almost all out of stock. Aside from the occasional really good deal, I rarely buy any titles from Walmart. This pretty much seals the deal if they keep up at this rate.

It's a psychological retail ploy that Walmart is pulling with its customers. When entire sections of media disappear, it grabs the attention of consumers and forces them to be more attentive to each store's inventory.

They could grab my attention by simply reducing the price of some more of the $7.88 titles to 5 or 6 bucks.

Removing the $7.88 bin temporarily isn't going to scare me into loading up on titles when it returns.

That means NO. I was reading and waiting for an example too. LOL. Stand by Me is shot really well and has a great young cast. Absolutely worth a rental atleast.
To me the 80's has a very heavy keyboard soundtrack to most of the popular movies of that time that really bother me. Any Sly Stallone movie from the 80's is a perfect example. But There are quality films too.

Yeah I checked 2 stores...1 had no 7.88 bins and the other did but its nearly impossible to find anything in it. I wish they'd just stack them up or something so you can see the spine of each one.

My Walmart never even got the $7.88 bins. They focus so much on dvd. My WM has 3 $5 dvd bins, one of them is full of Spanish movies!!! Their new releases are almost always gone, and they just keep adding more dvds. I am so glad that I can buy from Amazon. I live in a small town and don't have a Best Buy or anything within 60 miles of me

Two weeks after I posted this pic, that entire section is now just DVDs. What the hell happened? As usual, I go into Walmart to browse the movies and walk away with nothing.

I would've bought Bait 3D this time but looks like all those $7.88 titles got sucked into a black hole.

I'm going to my WM tomorrow and I'll report back. Sad to hear all the reports of missing BD bins. I loved searching through them.

Walmart here in Tampa had Moulin Rouge for $6. If the covers of songs were better, I would've gotten it.

My Walmart had a section of blu rays. A rack with them on both sides and on the end caps. Two weeks ago, they replaced one of the sides with DVDs. I'm not gonna even bother looking for movies there anymore.

I went to Wal-Mart this morning to pick up Flight. They are definitely reducing their Blu-ray selection. What used to be an end cap of $7.88 Blu-rays (see picture above), is now full of DVDs. They still have the $7.88 bin, for now. I'm glad I've already bought almost everything that I care to. It's looking like I'll only being going there for new releases from now on.

Seriously. 2-3 bins of $5 DVDs isn't enough? Now the entire media section is going back to DVD? An entire end cap of blus and one giant side of "blu-ray bestsellers" is now DVDs (they didn't even bother to remove the blu-ray bestsellers sign)

Maybe Walmart should get rid of HDTV's and blu-ray players as well.

Mine had a bunch of titles like JCVD, ALMOST FAMOUS, THREE AMIGOS, DANCES WITH WOLVES. I might have to go back now.

Holy crap, after reading the last few pages about dwindling Wal-mart Blu-ray stock, I checked out my own.

There used to be a 4-sided island full of nothing but Blu; that has been reduced to 2 sides DVD and 2 sides Blu. No Blu in any bins anywhere, no free-standing cardboard Blu displays anymore, a couple other Blu endcaps turned to DVD, and the general movie shelves have been severely thinned out...

What is going on?

I saw a new media display today. It was all the Warner double and triple features, with redesigned slipcovers that seem to be a Walmart exclusive. Most of them were $9.96. Nothing really new, but the same ones other stores have been carrying like Best Buy.

I really hope my WM gets that it. I hope it just isn't old triples and doubles that have sitting at my WM anyway.
