Yes, it works fine either way, I'm just saying that symbolically one last act of goodness doesn't really absolve Vader of decades of working under the influence of the Dark Side.

I would have been fine with keeping it the way it was originally, but I do see some merit in showing Hayden Christensen, despite how much I despise him as an actor. It's telling that he hasn't acted in anything worthwhile since the end of the Star Wars prequel trilogy (Jumper was mostly terrible and only noteworthy for Samuel L. Jackson's hair).

I wasn't a fan of the second "Nooooooo". It was a little out of place. Not terrible but not necessary either.

Yes, but it was cheaper on the Amazon.uk site at the time, and I wanted the UK packaging because each disc had its own plastic clip holders instead of the US sleeves. I have the one I want now, thanks to ebay!

I always watch the conversations on the original trilogy and correcting/changing images.

Just curious, those who want a true "original trilogy", do you want the boxes left intact around the tie-fighters? If you take those out, where do you draw the line on what to correct? Not trolling, just curious. I had little issue with the reworking the first time thru....Han should shoot first though. Never had a preference on the ghosts of dead jedi. "Noooooo" needs to "goooooo"

Sfx touch ups are fine (like removing wires in wizard of oz) it's the unesercary additions people object.

Food for thought: at what point does a movie change so much it can't be considered to be the same movie that originally won all the awards?

Yep, exactly as originally screened at the cinema...warts 'n' all.

How is it a con? I never got any memo from Lucas about being able to sell these on eBay for over £100 a month after buying them.

I just love how people are still blaming Lucas despite the fact that he's left the franchise...

I personally don't think we'll see unaltered versions while the current versions are selling (and the 2011 box set sold VERY well). I just can't see them spending the time and money on something that the average buyer doesn't really care about.

Nothing to do with Lucas this time, but it's certainly yet another cash-in. It's also quite obvious that this won't be the last time they're released.

Of course. We'll have a steel box or tin with both trilogies. Then with each new movie the set will be repackaged then they'll be another box set 1 - 7 then 1 - 8 etc etc

I'd be first in line for a solo ESB steelbook if they released them seperately (I don't mind any of the changes made in that movie).

I don't see how anyone could argue with this. ALL the changes in Empire are for the better. IMHO!

So I still have not received these about 10 days after my estimated delivery date. Got in touch with Amazon uk and they are placing a replacement order for me but I am bummed because it also had my Schindler's List digibook which is now OOS so looks like I am not getting that one.

Just received word of my replacement discs shipping out as well, this time it appears each steelbook was shipped individually. We'll see what happens.

I think you will be fine. I honestly think this may have something to do with them going DHL although that is normally how I receive my amazon de orders and never had a problem.

I guess all I can hope is that they arrive at some point in which case I guess I would just give the extra copies to friends or family...unless I would have to send them back to Amazon.

Were your DE orders shipped DHL Global or the Deutsche Post DHL? DHL Global usually offers tracking I believe. The 2nd method is the one giving us fits.

It was a while ago but I am pretty sure it was the second option because I had no way of tracking them. My guess is that they are lost and will show up some time, but over 30 days to receive them is ridiculous.

Since it seems many people are having this problem and Amazon is due to lose quite a bit of money on replacements, maybe it will cause to double think using this shipping option in the future.

Just keep checking AmazonUK, as it might reappear for sale. That's what I did with the Robocop SB that was lost, and Amazon couldn't replace. The next day it was available for sale. Gee, thanks for telling me Amazon?
