That might be, but its still an important day for hundreds of millions.

If it is a sacred day, then gaming is a triviality, right? If it is just because you have the day off, well, I do not. Could have been Labor Day Monday. Or Memorial Day Monday. Who would have cared besides the millions in the US?

Not I

I wish you could swap the dome thumb sticks over to the DS4, the way I use my thumbs on the thumbsticks works out better for me.

Sorry but I gotta side with those affected last Monday. However I learned from Sony maintenance in the past, ways to sneak in.

I charge my PS3 controller after a GTA session. Not because it needs it, but because it's habit forming because of time spent with a PS4 controller.

Oh yes that is my number one complaint with the ps3, all the hours and hours I spend using it, it is mainly navigating the xmb, and it is so slow... I'm being sarcastic. Who would either notice or give a damn.

I think the 'X' to close is new for the system keyboard? Looks like a new hard return button by R2/Done.

Also L2+Triangle shortcut for less common characters and the SIXAXIS/DPAD typing switch button looks different, probably changes depending which you're currently using.

If using a controller, I find no issues using the R2 for "Done"

L2+^ shortcut is welcome.

From one source that I read, they claim that it'll be possible to import your own music via USB.

But what format, mp3? Playlists? Does that mean we can use our own music for in game custom soundtracks?

I think it's mainly if you're using Gyro/SIXAXIS pointing and already entered text but want to quit out without submitting or (double?) pressing .

Did you know if you have multiple input languages selected, you can switch between them regardless of overall system language, and there's a cool little transition animation.

Importing music's just for SHAREfactory video editing at the moment.

I figured that out after reading a few sources. There's a lot of misinformation about this update. One source claimed that Sony was actually adding mp3 playback in this next update.

Would love for Sony to add .MP3 support in this update but it seems it's just for SHAREfactory at the moment.

What, I really wanted was youtube support and that seems like it didn't make the cut either even with the SHAREfactory push. X1 has youtube uploads so not sure what's holding Sony back.

Maybe MS has a period of exclusivity deal with Google. Or Sony has a deal with someone else that agrees not to support Youtube for a time. Or it was simply budgeted for a different quarter. Or none of those things.

I was thinking that but it seems a lot of devices like phones, tablets can all upload straight to youtube. Unless you can buy console exclusive youtube than I could see MS doing that.

+ = me

So have they kept most of the features of the update secret so far?

Also I think Sony will eventually get YouTube. Way to much mainstream content to just pass up on.

Considering its a much requested feature yet Sony hasn't said its coming in this update, I wouldn't listen to other sources. If it was indeed coming, I think they'd have announced it when they gave us the details

Maybe Google weren't happy with the idea that users could upload videos and have them directly linked in the PlayStation social feed but Facebook were ok with it. I'm not sure if Facebook recompresses the uploaded video either.

I think the lack of youtube support is possibly because Sony have a deal with Twitch and Ustream as part of their PS Live app.

It is completely stupid that the platform Sony use to promote their games isn't available to PS4 gamers either as an app (like PS3) or as an option to upload game vids. Although once the export to USB arrives I guess we can upload them to YouTube, just not directly just yet. I'm sure this will get resolved in time.

I'm looking forward to this update but I'm not expecting any extra features beyond what's been announced, though 3D blu-ray support would be very welcome.
