I know that, but there are tons of forums out there. This one is specifically for Bluray. Why did you join if you hate Bluray and consider it 'old fashioned'? iTunes is just as old fashioned. Who uses downloads anymore? Spotify is where it's at. At least with Blu, I'm getting all that stunning quality. iTunes is a mess to use IMO.

My backups for Blu-ray are the thousands of other people who own the same Blu-ray. If my copy breaks I can buy from one of them long after the studios stops supporting each title. With digital the studios control all distribution: when a title is delisted if you don't already have a copy you can't possibly get one (this applies to DRM-free titles as well). |

Anyone who invests in building a movie collection and elects to download and rip the DRM, should also be able to maintain their hard drives and make necessary additional backups if the current drive is showing signs of failing. The main issue is more about who will download and who will just keep it 'in the cloud.' |

I'm not worried about losing my collection, I'm worried about titles becoming unavailable for everyone. With digital that can easily happen. With physical every copy in existence would have to be destroyed. |

Wouldn't that time be better spent playing some small game on the Ipad, tab etc or listening to music. Once you do get back home, plop a blu ray and enjoy a quality experience, not to mention no distractions like when travelling etc. Just a thought ![]() Last edited by knight17; 05-06-2016 at 07:43 AM. |

When travelling, I always listen to music, browse the web, play a game or two...I wouldnt load up a movie on my smartphone, if I had my tablet, I might just put a couple of TV Shows on there
![]() As for removing DRM from iTunes titles, what are you guys using? Some methods reduce quality btw |

So, I am for "digital" as far we are talking about buying the disc then backing it up. I don't think we can talk about there here tho. As far as streaming goes from stuff like Netflix... I hate it and I won't do it. The quality sux. I have a projector and 110 inch screen. Blu Ray looks good even that large but streaming looks like the junk that it is. -Brian |

By the way, I have seen what used to be called Super HD on Netflix, it's decent but I'm guessing similar to HDX? Last edited by Steedeel; 05-06-2016 at 09:19 AM. |
