At least people can shut up about Disney not putting out any FOX / live action catalogue titles now. If you were a resident blowhard spouting that nonsense, and let's be honest there were dozens of you, then you should feel pretty silly and ashamed right now.

No idea why people attach themselves to that kind of cliche doomsaying around here. Like something gets repeated enough and then people just start believing it. So tired of folks that proclaim the dire future of physical media; they don't know anything about anything.

Disney has already announced they’re permanently moving their theme park headquarters from California to Florida as Disney World has been open since Q3 2020 & Florida has things operating overall pretty well unlike the mess in California.

Of course, Disney though has been having significant financial problems with their theme park operations prior to Covid-19 (Bob Iger is one reason why that is). One example, the renovation done at Hollywood Studios in Orlando particularly the Star Wars portion has been a financial disaster. Disney has been in financial troubles for sometime but that’s another story. I’ll just say this Disney isn’t the powerhouse many people think they are by any means.
I don't care about the problems of corporations that willingly acquire several billion dollars of debt, repeatedly. Disney makes tons of money. It's nobody else's fault, nor should it be their interest really, if Disney can't manage their finances and profit off their lucrative assets.

Everybody has to acquire all their competitors now. It's dumb. They should stick to their core competencies.

Glad to see the bean counters at Disney can see the value of physical media, and especially catalogue UHDs. Whilst I’m sure there is a significant focus on Disney+, it still felt a bit premature to me to completely right off physical in the first place, so to see what’s to come is definitely exciting.

Well physical can also help pay off the costs for creating new masters. If they can't offer enthusiast levels of quality on streaming, yet. Then it makes sense just to raid our wallets while they can to get their IP in good shape.

Fine by me.

Does anyone have a link to the screenshot comparisons for the Heat Blu-rays? I thought it was screencaps.us and I know I've used it for comparing Apocalypse Now but the URL escapes me. Thanks.

Let's not get prematurely excited. As has been noted, Disney did not have to pony up much to get these two titles released. We may breathe a sigh of relief if they start opening up the vaults to an array of actual classic titles and catalog favorites across their library.

Unofficial actually, if you see another one with the title in white with the blackish-blue background, in the 4k template, it is the one I made and it's just a collage too

No official announcement of any kind although it seems like there might be a 4k for sale in Germany in May.
