Tempted to pick this up, but a few things weighing on my mind:
1. If there really is any truth to the directors cut coming shortly after this standard release, it's prolly better to wait it out and pick that up instead. 2. Heck, even if there is no directors cut, this is part 1 of 2, so is it better to just wait for a complete movie release, that could possibly seem together both parts into 1 movie? Who am I kidding, I will prolly pick this up anyways lol and just sell it when a new version comes out. |

Thing is, directors cut could be worse and may not even include the theatrical cut on the same release. I’m fine with getting both. |

Good point. Or worse, could be a 4K/Blu-ray combo pack with the Directors cut on only ONE disc, and the other disc containing ONLY the theatrical cut, a la Suicide Squad.

Not sure what the hold up is. Still waiting for my shipping notice from Best Buy. Last month I got my notice from Dunkirk before Thursday and got the one I didn't order on Monday and the one I did order on Tuesday. So I'm really hoping later today. Anyone know where BB ships thier movies from, what ciity?
Nevermind: I just got my shipping notice.. ![]() Last edited by buckeye1; 01-04-2018 at 02:36 PM. |

But, if the DC removes some scenes or changes some around and the runtime stays close to the same then great. We'll see I guess. |

But, at least at my store, there's no release date. Could this actually be sold out on release day and this is the pre-order for the second wave? Like Logan?

I got 3 shipping notices today. One for the one I did order and 2 I ordered and canceled. Even though I canceled and got a pending cancellation last month. As if now it shows up as if I order them. Has anyone else experience this situation? And what happened?

WB never released a merged cut of Deathly Hallows, so I doubt they'll do a merged cut of both It chapters. :/

Andy Muschietti on the other hand has made it clear he intends to do a merged cut of both films down the line, reflecting the pacing of the original novel (cutting to and fro between the childhood and adult portions). This is alongside the already confirmed extended cuts. If a director wants to do an extended cut (and the film is popular enough that an extended cut would be profitable), WB usually allows it. As Muschietti is getting to do an extended cut for IT: Part One, it's likely Part Two will also get an extended cut and Muschietti will get his merged cut as well (which will probably be released as the "definitive" version). I would not be surprised if some footage is being withheld from the extended cut to allow the merged cut to have never before seen footage. |

The exclusion of physical media actually keeps coats way down, because they can just release the alternate cut on download and forego all the humongous expense of re-authoring new discs, replication, new cover art, printing, packaging, and shipping. So it's actually MORE cost effective to forego physical media, which is one reason all the companies are starting to do so. In fact, Fate of the Furious had an extended cut only available on digital, so there are still multiple edits of films coming out just like there always have been. |
