I still think the original Steelbooks from back when are the best...so far..I think I would buy the first anyway and slip this in the steelbook.

Man, this is tough for me.

I don't want to support shitty transfers in 4k (or ANY format).
I never bought Predator on BD because I hated the way it looked.

Predator is one of my all-time favorite movies.
I only have it now on DVD, but blind buying this in 4k is a dangerous prospect.

Well, it HAS to be better than before. Just HAS to be.
Won't it be?

Exactly the same as me although I have pre-ordered the trilogy (HMV in the UK) simply because it worked out £11.67 for each film. If the transfer/s suck then I'll either return it or eBay it.

To be honest though the chat about the iTunes version is very encouraging so hopefully they haven't done a T2.

Artwork for the trilogy on HMV has finally appeared. Same red samurai-esque artwork that Zavvi has, as I suspected. 4K, Blu-ray and Digital. Cancelling my Zavvi steelbook pre-order because I don't really like the artwork. I don't have a 4K player but this way I'm set for whenever I eventually do get one.

Same with me. They're £11.63 per film now.

I wonder if the trilogy will have individual cases for each movie or not?

Single six disc case would be my guess.

I don't think it needs Arnie on the cover -- the only way I'd want that is with the original poster, i.e. the infra-red Arnie.

Now, that cover above your post, I like. It's not just the Predator standing there. "Hey!"

HMV's listing for the 4K trilogy set says there's 2 discs. That certainly needs changing.

Hoping to take them out of the main box when The Predator comes out, huh? We'll just have to wait and see.

Well, I knew they weren't going to add a remastered Blu-ray disc to the mix but what does that link prove? I'm not following.

It looks like they're reissuing the original BD instead of the UHE. It says BD-25 instead of BD-50 in the specs.

Unless off course the specs are wrong.

That can't be right. I've not seen any new release Blu-rays for $4.99 on day of release. Even the re-release of Straight Talk was $13.99 on day of release. It's Fox we're talking about. Not Mill Creek.

Has the three film set actually been posted on any online retailers? I haven’t seen it anywhere. I’m concerned this will be a Mission: Impossible situation where the U.S. only gets singles.

From what I can see the US is just getting Predator on 4k UHD. There is nothing anywhere about a 3 film release in the US so I don't think Predator 2 and Predators are going to be available.

I really hope that isn't the case, because I don't have a 4K player yet. I personally don't think that link proves anything. Why wouldn't they include a remastered Blu-ray?

I don't know how much trust we shall put in these listings, but at least the trilogy is listed somewhere.

Because it's easier and cheaper not to include a remastered Blu-ray. Because they don't care and they're lazy. Because they don't want to put that much effort into it, to be honest. Take your pick. Any one of those answers works.

Not to be rude, but what exactly do you mean by "keeping fingers crossed for a Die Hard approach"?

I assume he means on par with the Die Hard UHD, looking at the caps alone it's nothing impressive IMHO. Hopefully Predator is a bigger leap in detail, a new scan is long overdue.
