What Leslie said isn't truth at all, the only truth is that they had an amazing opportunity to make an awesome female-led Ghostbusters movie and they f***ed up by hiring Katie Dippold to write that garbage script. That's the "truth" right there, whether it is accepted or not. Feig has officialy thrown himself under the bus by joining Leslie. It really was better not to say anything at all in their cases. Boy do they look like fools.

That's your opinion, so I'll respect it even if I disagree. However, I do agree that it's silly that GB2016 is being brought up the way it has been over the news of GB3. That's not the fans bringing it up though, as I've already explained, the media made those connections first, then the fans simply reacted to that. GB2016 will always be trashed because it is trash. It's just the reality of the situation.

As for publicity; bad publicity is still publicity, as I've already mentioned. With Leslie and Feig coming out of the woodwork to get angry/sad about a GB3 movie that they have nothing to do with, they are effectively showing how silly they are. That sort of thing can actually be a driving force to change peoples' view on the new GB3 movie to be a great thing if that is how stupid people act over an announcement to a movie which doesn't even include them. That's like Brandon Routh from Superman Returns getting all angry/sad over Man Of Steel with Henry Cavill. Asinine, I tell you! Asinine!

I understand that SOME fans are to blame, namely the particular group who were genuinely misogynistic and sexist with their comments and hate for GB2016, who had the completely wrong reasons to hate the movie. That I can agree with. What I do not agree with is people addressing that hate to include ALL people hating the movie, including those who disliked the movie for other reasons such as poor comedy and writing, etc.

The fans do tend to speak out when people talk BS about them. I don't blame them at all.

It's funny though, if that whole story was made into a movie, do you think people would've enjoyed it as much? The first third (or more) is literally a re-hash of the original movie...Stay Puft in Manhattan (Times Square - similar to all the ghosts in GB16 too!) and then they have to capture Slimer at the Sedgwick again! Works great in the video game cause you have control over a new character and you get to bust some ghosts, but talk about the possibility of some outrage if the first half of GB3 was literally Stay Puft and Slimer again.

They are iconic along with the original GBs, but it'd be similar to some people's gripes the Force Awakens, too much reliance on nostalgia!

Fantastic game though.

If the plot from the game was adapted into a movie, I doubt that they would include the retreads of Stay Puft and Slimer. That was largely in the game to allow people to experience those iconic battles in game-form while still otherwise telling a new story.

Speaking of the game, I've been playing it again lately. Thankfully the online multiplayer still works on Xbox.

Yeah, it really wouldn't work as a movie, IMO. It works fine as a video game though! With a movie, people want to see something new. If the video game was the GB3 movie, we'd be getting Mr. Stay Puft a second time, which I don't think would go down well for a movie since he's already been done in GB84. I guess if you removed the elements from the video game which are retreads of the first two movies, then you could be onto something.

Well sure. From what I understand, the plot for that game was more or less based on one of Dan Aykroyd's concepts for a GB3 film. I'm sure the original concept did not include the retreads of Stay Puft and Slimer. Those were added in because it is a video game.

Not that I'm insisting that the plot of the game be adapted into the new story (though I wouldn't mind if the events of it were more or less considered canon and at least vaguely referenced among things that the team encountered over the years after the events of GB2).

i bought the game as a PC download acouple of years ago for like $5. I was playing it for like 20mins before it crashed on me and i never bothered restarting it

From my experience, kinda. When you're suspended you can still access to to the forum. However, you can't post. Where as being "banned" you're not allowed in until you done the time first.

Not really. I've seen a few perm bans in my time here, but most of them are temporary. I know suspensions are a thing, but IDK what makes them different from temp bans.

I got banned for calling another members 8 yr old niece an "idiot" for referring to Thanos as Zhanos when Infinity War came out.
It was totally worth it and having to read the reason for ban, was a hoot as well.

That sucks that it crashed. It's an incredible game. I personally played it on the PS3.

As much as I love Ghostbusters, I'm not really interested in a third one. I'd much prefer to see a long-form series letting Dan go wild (with Reitman reigning him in a tad) with his ideas from the ground up.

It could work if they really go hard on bringing in the cream of '80s talent to support them, but without Harold Ramis I fear the magics gone.

I take full responsibility of all my bans and suspensions. The ONLY time where I thought my ban was completely unfair and wrong was when I told one of the mods that he might as well ban me because I'm not going to pretend that Ghostbusters 2016 wasn't a flop, because it was. It was a flop whether you like the movie or not. This is when the 2016 version was at it's second weekend at the box-office, so some of the delusional supporters still had high hopes. And all I did was post a link to the actual confirmation that Ghostbusters 2016 lost money. So basically, I got banned for being right.
