Pleasantly surprised to see Gone with the Wind there. I was convinced Warners were gonna bury it.
They'll probably stick a warning before the start of the movie.
It's what they've been doing with Looney tunes most "problematic" episodes.

That Giftset looks awesome and super high quality for all the stuff your getting in it. I also like it's a "standard" case size so it wouldn't take too much space on my self. But then is it worth $25 more for stuff that'll just sit there? I'm leaning towards the Standard one if the transfer is worth a pickup.

Yes, but somebody broke their NDA in posting some of the titles from that survey. Unfortunate because that can have ramifications on the program going forward.

MGM does not do 4K restorations. They can’t afford it. WB would have to pay for it. Criterion fronts the bill on UA titles they release that need any kind of work. Do tell me where I can see all the MGM 4K content?

MGM did 4K transfers of Silence of the Lambs, RoboCop, TGTBATU, Princess Bride, Spaceballs, Mad Max, the rest of the Bonds that didn't get a 4K master initially (and they may well have redone the old ones that were 4K anyway), as well as other films I'm probably forgetting, and they did them several years ago. Of course Criterion foot the bill for restorations that they want to do, that's how that works with them or any indie.

4K versions of all of the above, several with Dolby Vision, are available on digital and streaming platforms. So that's the horrible, horrible irony with MGM not giving two shits about UHD disc: they've been tarting up their catalogue for a while now. I fully agree that as a studio they don't have two brass farthings to rub together, but even they realised that their catalogue was one of the only money-makers that they had left so they came up with the cash to do all these remasters to get people to buy them again, though not enough cash to do physical UHD releases of them obvs.
