Ha! Just got the same email as I read the above. Thing is though - presumably they haven't got the corrected discs yet so there's gonna be a wait? Think Ill watch it first and then send it back!

Yeah- I have to agree, and go as far as to say that I actually now pretty firmly prefer the new Atmos mix.

It’s a really meaty, hefty track that fully complements the film, but is unquestionably also highly revisionist.

The biggest change to me is the suppression of the Brian May score in favour of elevating all the bangs, crunches and growling (new) engine noises. It might be heresy, but to honest, the comparison reinforces something that’s always niggled me to a degree - that being the overpowering operatic stridency of the score in the original mix.

All this said, it really is inexcusable that the original stereo soundtrack is missing and I won’t be content until Warners addresses this.

Can’t help but wonder if it’ll be a quiet fix, slipping out corrected disks without comment like they did with the Wonder Woman TV set.

It’s pretty weird that WOW are offering a replacement programme when sister company Deep Discount are selling ‘in-stock‘ versions of the same item.

What gives?

No intentions of listening to it. Ever. I don't want a 1981 movie to sound like a 2021 movie any more than I want a 2021 movie to sound like a 1981 movie.

Yeah, another member did say that Warner Bros would send out replacement discs if you live abroad so that's something to consider.

Did anyone else notice the water or mold damage (or decomposition?) in Mad Max 1, at ~30:30 / 31 mins?
The dancing stains / specks aren’t visible or don’t exist in the old HD transfer on Blu-ray, weird.

So I only have Fury Road on 4K and I want to get all 4 of them on 4K. Do you guys think I should go for the anthology set over the individual releases? I am just not sure if the bonus features are worth me buying the individual releases? What do you guys think?

Official word from Warner (in the US) is mid-January barring any supply chain issues between now and then.

More key frames and higher bitrate helps better resolve grain and motion resolution.

Does the UK boxset use the standard thick UK cases or does it have the US thinner Elite cases? It looks like a shelfhog based on the pics on Amazon.

As much as I like and want this set, I’m going to wait for a price drop later this year. I have Kino’s first one so that will hold me for now. Plus, I’ve got a bunch of other movies from Christmas to keep me occupied until then, lol. Merry Christmas!
