I haven't had the pleasure of seeing this yet, but it really does look like the funniest film of the year. I love all three original Naked Gun films as well as anything by ZAZ, so I know I'll enjoy this one too.

The Naked Gun Releases on Streaming After It Fails to Cross $100 Million at Box Office
Liam Neeson’s The Naked Gun reboot flopped at the box office, but heads to PVOD on Sept 2 after positive critic and fan reviews.

Liam Neeson once again returned to the screens earlier this month with an action crime comedy, The Naked Gun, and boy, was it a sight to witness. And yet, the flick’s box office performance wasn’t all that admirable, considering how it failed to cross even the $100 million mark at the global box office, making only $76.4 million in total despite holding major star power like Neeson and Pamela Anderson.

And yet it sits at 87.3 million and might do another 7 million domestically.
I'm rooting for this movie to get to a 100 million, even though I don't get a penny of it.

Does anyone know what the budget for this movie was? Probably way too high for a movie like this.

Too bad it's not doing that well. Check out this poster. The way it was made implies that whoever made it hated the movie and expected it to fail.

Saw it last night. Haven't laughed that much at a movie in a loong time. Not every joke works, but so many do.

Hard to compare to the first three, but it's definitely worthy. Kind of shocked how right the tone was.
I did wish
[Show spoiler]Jane (Priscilla Presley) had at least gotten a line. Im guessing something was cut so hope the blu-ray has some good extras

Saw this Sunday.

It's okay. I wanted to like it more.

Snowman bit is fun. Most of it feels hollow though. Seems like they tried, which is nice. Neeson and Anderson were good for what they did. Paul Walter Hauser is nice to have overall. His kid bit was funny.

It's just a very forgettable movie.

Not bad. Just mostly unforgettable.I wanted to like it more, it just lacked an oomph to it for me. And I guess that's the sad part. I wanted to like it cuz they were trying. It just sort of falls mum to me overall.

It was a good effort, yes. There are times it is very much in the style of the original. It got me smiling and chuckling for much of the movie, but no major hysterical laughing like with Leslie Nielsen.

I wonder if Neeson was put into the original movies, if it would be as funny if he replaced Nielsen? Neeson does a good job, but Nielsen was a genius in the role IMO.

I'm still interested in seeing if there's a part 2 by some slight chance.

I got lazy and didn't see this in a theater though it still seems to get a few showings. Interestingly, Neeson is currently older than Leslie Nielsen was even at the very end of his spoof comedy run with Wrongfully Accused, which was released around eighteen years after Airplane.

Liam and Pam Anderson are both pretty "old" for contemporary audiences and younger gens may not know Pam. It's also wild that Lindsay Lohan isn't far in age from Jamie Lee Curtis in the early 2000s Freaky Friday.

I did some nasty calculations.
If the movie drops a steady 50% per week after next Thursday it needs about 1.2-1.5 million from foreign markets to reach 100 million.

If that steady drop is 45% per week it needs less than 1 million from the rest of the world.
Seems easy.

Watched this last night.

Even though the trailers were solid, I still had my doubts. But man, they nailed it. I was laughing from the beginning until the end. And it was nice and short too. Wasn't expecting it to end so soon. But it didn't overstay it's welcome. I hope we get some more.

The goddamn
[Show spoiler]montage with the snowman killed me.
I was trying to keep my laughter low so I didn't wake anyone up.

“No. It’s a building.”

Lol. I knew I would enjoy the movie after that exchange.
