The UK BD is different from the US BD. It doesn't have the commentary but has DTS-HD MA.

The US/CAN release has the commentary because the US/CAN Blu-ray discs are the 2006 discs. Meaning those wanting a better Blu-ray are out of luck, the BD is lossy audio only. Meanwhile the European market gets a new disc with lossless audio but sacrifices the commentary for it.

I'd rather have the commentary track than a blu ray with lossless audio which I'd hopefully never need to watch. US steelbook ordered.

Good News.

Sleepy Hollow 4K steelBook US Version was invoiced to me the other day and is tracking for shipment by this evening. It appears I will be able to ship out that U.S. version to you after all. I just wanted to let you know in advance.

Regards,

I have had good experiences with both stores so far.

I’m confused by your comment. What happened exactly?

They previously stated that the steelbook was going to be a Best Buy exclusive, which isn't the case.

Both Atomic and OrbitDVD said that the Steelbook version was going to be a Best Buy exclusive. Orbit supposedly heard it directly from the distributor Atomic even sent out an email and then began taking pre-orders for the UK import steelbook for a jacked up price of $46.99. The issue was that their info and sources were weak at best. And the info didn't even make sense because Best Buy was not taking pre-orders for the steelbook or even the regular 4K version. They weren't taking preorders for anything and yet Atomic and Orbit were claiming BB had exclusive access to the steelbook.

To be fair, they were being cautious. It’s obvious there were issues with their distributor and was proactive rather than if it had been a stock/supply chain issue to have to send out e-mails and it be too late for those to seek it elsewhere.

They figured it would be a Best Buy exclusive because all the sudden it had disappeared from their distributor listings and that raised red flags.

Again they were being great about handling it, they didn’t want to disappoint.

Ohh gotcha.

I like them both though in terms of shipping and packing (usually ship out very quickly and I believe they always pack orders in boxes). Orbit makes sure they don’t send out slips in bad condition.

I think it was just a misunderstanding all around. Atomic was probably trying to secure more stock and was told BBY grabbed them all, and mistook that for all copies made and not whatever stock not allocated for each store allowed to sell these that they still had left.

This. It's not like there would be any business incentive whatsoever from cancelling orders, and directing people to other stores. The release is still wonky. Still not on Amazon, and others. Diabolik were shocked they even got any, which obviously signals an abnormal distribution situation.

I am leaning towards not purchasing as I haven’t seen the film before.

If I did though, I would probably buy from BB as they have been letting me exchange damaged copies.

I don’t know what the policy is for Atomic and Orbit if it arrived with a spine slash or dents/dings they weren’t aware of.

Have you seen and liked any of Tim Burton's early works? If so, you'll probably enjoy the film. In terms of horror films, it's pretty high class from the sets, costumes, effects, story and great music by Danny Elfman.

Yes, Beetlejuice, the Batman movies, Pee Wee, and Edward Scissorhands. I did enjoy those.

You will like Sleepy Hollow then. It's a true Tim Burton film with great atmosphere and the best version of Washington Irving's classic story so far.

The two posts above are spot on! The film is a bit dark, creepy and eerie and despite being R rated it has a good fun factor to it.
