definitely gotta see Burn After Reading! i know a lot of people find it boring (honestly don't see it at all that way, but to each their own) but i loved it. and it was probably the funniest movie i've seen since The 40 Year-Old Virgin. not that it's really a comedy, but it is a dark comedy. very, very, very highly recommended.

very Coen brothers. of course.

Thanks again, Romulus stamp of approval, now I just need Squid's, jhiggy's and Surfdude's
Sounds like you're approaching the film the same way I did. I honestly didn't read anything going in. I only knew the basic premise and that was it.

Glad you guys liked the review.

See, now that sounds fun.

With Inception, people can and will compare it to The Matrix (even though both films deal with different realities). For that reason alone I don't feel like we'll see a huge impact with Inception that we did with The Matrix.

The reason I can say yes, it is The Matrix of the '10s is that here we are comparing the two films. If people see Inception and the general topic becomes which of these two films is better then it's pretty obvious it is.

It's unfair to go watch Inception ready to compare it to The Matrix. I suggest you go see the movie and compare it to nothing. Don't have any expectations, treat it like any other movie and it will make a bigger impact.
Im checking this out tomorrow! After seeing this i cant wait!!!!

is this about a 1965 all girls school? that's the only "The Woods" on netflix right now, but nothing in the description has the name 'Coben' in it.

Well, thats a blend, so I guess they just arent your cup of tea. I tend prefer their dark stuff like Blood Simple and Millers crossing over their silly films. Now if Netflix would EVER send A Serious Man, I could see how wrong Gremal was.

Intolerable Cruelty was gutbusting funny. The courtroom scene.

Attorney: I object, Your Honor, counsel is punching my witness in the face.

Judge: *Ponders for a moment*.... "I'll allow it, overuled"

First of, the first 30-40 Min's are a complete story setting bore fest, what ever you may say, there are better ways to set up your story than this, that and the fact no one talks in a normal tone, they take up such strange speeches. But I do agree with it's excellent, a lot of scenes are very tension built, and the acting for the most part is great. The story is catered to perfection after the first 30 mins and the meaning of the story is very well put and meaningful to the universe.

9.5/10

PQ 9.5/10 (it always annoyed me the dip in quality between the Imax and Normal scenes)

AQ 10/10

Overall 9.5/10
I gave the movie an easy 10! Right next to the Watchmen as the Best super hero movies of my generation. But i do agree with you on the PQ, that was kinda annoying, I do love the fact that they used the imax cams but they should of used them the entire movie.

You cant lie those imax takes have SUPERB Picture Quality!!

No it that really was respectful and like you said showed pacino's character. If i were a criminal id have to be deniro in this film.
[Show spoiler]When he killed the last guy it just reminded me of Tom Cruise's Collateral.

I'll be getting it soon enough, but my purchasing follows a distinct pattern. I only buy a blu when it's a deal that I can't pass up, usually because the price won't get as low as I could get it for for a long time. For example, I just bought Lovely Bones off someone on here, sealed, for $14. It's barely dropped below $20. I also got on here in the past 3 weeks Transporter (sealed) for $6, Harry Potter 5 (sealed) for $7, Cars w/ slip for $13, and Triangle for $12.

I do really need to add Heat though. Every movie on my wishlist is price tracked and I have six films that meet my low price!
Thats fu*ked up bro. I hope that never happens to me. 240 blus in about a year, id cry if someone stole them... Right after their mouths taste some cold steel. ha.

-Everything about this film is perfect: cinematography, script, acting, themes.

PQ is incredible, 5/5. My jaw dropped at some of the rural scenes around the pond.

AQ is also great, 4/5.
So im tempted to get this along with HUNGER. But is it really worth the hassel??? Im checking out Barnes and Noble today, cant rely on the online special, my order got delayed almost a whole month.

HAHAHA sorry bud. I meant the author Harlan Coben. He's a major American author and wrote Tell No One, which was turned into the French film you're about to watch. I was referring to a book of his, which would make an excellent film.

Are am I the only one baffled about how long of a wait there's been for A Serious Man and the fact that Paranormal Activity, last time I checked, STILL has a very long wait?

haha yeah the dvds were stolen only a few days before I moved from Buffalo. It's a crazy story, involving detectives, finger printing, and the disease shingles.

In regards to the Criterion sale, hell yes it's worth the hassle. These prices are ridiculous. If you want one of them, absolutely go get it.

Looking forward to seeing it.

And as for the Black Book - Gremal gave it a 1/5 and Zombie Strippers got a 1.5/5. Sure the reviewers are different, but if that doesn't throw up red lights for bias in the review, I'm not sure what does.

Yeah, I was amazed how long it took me to get it.

A lot of Blu new releases are like that--though the past month or so it's gotten better.

I think I get throttled sometimes for being too slow since I get busy and sometimes won't get around to watching a disc for a couple weeks.
