And they let people know via PSA and emails. Most retailers just don't give a f**k about letting their customers know ahead of time. Kudos to GKids.

I already got the all the anime one but I wonder how many they will have
Also I would have expected them to put the sets back on sale after the early bird price

Worth noting for GKIDS’ response.

“Just want to confirm, none of the editions include the 4 Eva rebuild movies correct?”

Worst part is people now know a time and can set up their bots.

I was wondering about the bot situation myself when the Ultimate Edition listing originally went live a couple weeks ago so I checked eBay to see if resellers hocked up "Pre-Order" listings like they did with PS5's, Series X's, Switch... but from where I was sitting - it didn't happen. Thank goodness...

Of course, this could be something eBay is monitoring because they cracked down on Valve Steamdeck Pre-Order listings. Same could be happening to NGE Ultimate Edition. In which case you might be right - we just aren't seeing it "yet". (resellers/botters will be able to list them on launch day if resellers did indeed scalp them from GKids)

Keep in mind the Ultimate Edition was limited to 1 per customer.

Bot programs have had ways around that for years now unfortunately. Shoe/Sneaker scalpers even have ways to find loopholes around 1 per Household/Address.

GKIDS actually seem to be taking the time to check people so that others have a chance to get an order in. Here is hoping that if people do run bots those orders get cancelled.

I wish Gkids put out better pictures of all these editions. I find it hard to see what set looks like. It seems to be some kind of digibook of sort. Would be nice to have better shots.

Make sure you check out the first page of this thread. I've included pictures of all three releases as well as a picture that differentiates the dimensions/sizes between the three releases. (i.e. Ultimate Edition, Limited Edition, Standard Edition)

I could see someplace like say Roberts pulling what some of the online toy shops would do to get around the purchase limits . Have employees order extra then reimburse them for the cost .

The photo of the UE set still does not answer the question of how the discs are mounted inside those two large sleeves - whether they are digipaks with plastic hubs or just have cardboard slots for the discs. The spines of the sleeves look almost too thin to have digipak hubs in them. To my knowledge there has not been any photo released yet from GKids that shows the disc mounting on the inside of those sleeves.

Yeah, they basically put out a variety of overview shots and nothing that shows much detail on the inside of the sleeves or how things go in the box. Maybe their PR department has a deal worked out with the unboxing YouTubers lol

(More likely the sets aren't entirely manufactured yet and these are just renders, not photos of actual objects)

Given the relatively small scale of GKIDS' Ultimate Edition release (i.e. only 5000 units total) and large amount of time they have to work with, you would think it would be somewhat easier for them to screen out the more obvious duplicate orders.

Thus the "final product subject to change" disclaimer on their stock images.

Is there something wrong with shoutfactory's website? My antivirus is not liking it.

If I bought this and got sleeves I'd be pissed. They do look like hard cardboard and anime limited love there plastic trays so I'm hopeful.

I’m expecting them to be set-up pretty similarly to Criterion’s Godzilla: Showa Era box set.

That sucks. That is probably one of the worst ways to store discs I have ever owned. Discs are really hard to get out. Ended up buying custom cases to hold all my Godzilla discs.

I miss big box sets where each disc had it’s own individual case. The DVD era had it right.
