Well one of my two Third Window releases I ordered Sunday shipped yesterday (Taste of Tea), but Mad Cats did not, even though it currently shows still in stock , so it seems like you would be better off waiting.

(It's a complete mystery why two in stock blu-rays would ship separately especially with international shipping.)

No 10% at the moment, does Rarewaves usually do it at the end of the month?

They did it around the solstice this month.

Yeah I'm gonna wait 'til at least I'm about to move before ordering I think. I ordered 4 records from them and they all dispatched individually the last 4 days, the last one dispatched today, so I'm now worried about those (hoping they'll all arrive before this time next week, fingers crossed they will soon because records are bigger than the usual parcel).

No idea why individual dispatch on items is the way they do things, but there you go. HMV do the same thing over here sometimes and it makes no sense to me. I've ordered a dozen things before and they've arrived in 8-10 separate packages, all arriving on different days. If that's cheaper than sending them all at once, I guess that's the state of things with Royal Mail more than anything (I can relate, being a frequent eBay seller).

What is missing from the standard edition compared to the limited edition? Just the slipcover or the booklet as well?

Are you referring to a specific title? Because it varies. Third Window’s website is usually very clear about these things though

Even with the opposite company changing all their barcodes back in the system, Amazon's lack of real human 'staff' has made the problem impossible to reverse. God knows how much money I have lost, but it's been a couple years now and it doesn't look like the issue is being fixed.
So, new titles going forward will be on there, but a bunch will probably never go on there.
Was in Bristol for a flying visit and was able to grab Crazy Family, they had a few TWF releases but sadly only one of the 6 I was looking for.

HMV are now shipping over but items they ship is very limited atm so hoping they expand to include other TW releases I can grab.

Can't imagine how annoying it must be for you to be losing out so much money due to it.

Do you have a full list of titles that were never available on Amazom, may be helpful for people who missed out on them.

For anyone who lives in or near London might want to go see a film or two here this month (from Facebook):

As mentioned by Third Window Films on social media, Rarawaves has a decent amount of TWF BDs as part of a 2 for £16 promo:

I watched Shinji Somai's Moving last night, it was wonderful. Why has no one released it?

I think simply because it was acquired by Cinema Guild in the US and Adam felt that it "will be released by many companies worldwide [...] so I'd prefer to focus on titles of his (and others) which do not have other releases."

Which I think is fair reasoning - though it's baffling and worrying that Cinema Guild has still yet to release it or P.P. Rider on disc when they gave them theatrical runs over a year ago.

The French release of Moving has English subtitles for the film, and it looks great (and the film is absolutely brilliant, by the way). Not ideal, but it'll have to do for now.

Toshiaki Toyoda’s Transcending Dimensions is getting its UK premiere at FrightFest on the 22nd of August. In the main screen too, I usually miss out whenever Third Window Films have something at FrightFest due to the limited availability in the smaller discovery screens.

Your Lovely Smile just came through the letterbox. I wonder if this is the kind of movie I can watch with my daughter. The IMDb Parents guide doesn't give any advice. In general, what Third Window's releases do you recommend to watch with kids?

My daughter is 18, by the way, but thankfully she won't know anything about sex for many years yet

A Scene at the Sea and Kikujiro (if you can find them) and The Taste of Tea immediately spring to mind.

My daughter and I watched The Taste of Tea a while ago and she really liked it. She has studied some Japanese and was able to explain things I hadn't otherwise understood. A Scene at the Sea and Kikujiro are both on my shelf. Thanks.

I'd add Adrift in Tokyo, Fish Story, The Woodsman and the Rain, One Cut of the Dead, River and other timeloop films... There are many, really.
