Yep, it'll show there. Although if you have Paypal, you can get it now with other titles from EUREKA/MoC with free shipping with this latest sale.

"Une femme mariée: fragments d’un film tourné en 1964 en noir et blanc" and "Sunrise" are definite must-buys.

It comes up in US dollars. If it doesn't, there's an option to change it. Amazon UK is no hassle at all. Although, to order any of the MOC blu-rays, I think you'd be much better off ordering them directly from Eureka/MOC right now during their February sale. Their shipping is FREE worldwide, and it is much faster than Amazon UK's shipping. You can find links to the sale over in the MOC thread. All of their direct ordering is done through PayPal, though, if that's an issue for you.

There's a review of "The Black Shield Of Falworth" over on DVDBeaver's for those that don't venture outside of this site. It's a bare bones Eureka release, but it's still a fun ride, right along with Eureka's blu-ray releases of "Junebug" and "Bad Boy Bubby."

The MOC blu-ray releases are in a class of their own, though.

Now I don't do this but here's some suggestions:

1. Peal the sticker off the plastic wrap and adhere to the outer sleeve of the case or on the actual cover art. I've peeled two or three off and they're still sticky, so don't go making a mess with glue or anything.

2. Use scissors and cut the sticker off by removing all the plastic around it (leaving just the round sticker w/ plastic still on the backside). Then open the plastic case fully and slide the sticker into the sleeve, leave it resting on the cover art (or wherever)

I'm not complaining, but if you've been waiting a while for replacement cases, just keep the faith. I ordered mine on 12/16/10 and just received them yesterday. My order was for all 9, so that could also explain some of the delay as well. Obviously, some have had faster times, but that might help some others understand why its taking so long.

I watched my first Criterion Blu last night...twice. It was The 400 Blows and I watched once without the commentary and a second time, immediately after with the commentary playing.

I really enjoyed the film and will be purchasing a few more Criterion films soon.

And btw. are these Criterion replacement cases available for other countries or is it just USA and Canada?
I am in Australia and inquired about the replacement cases. I got a prompt reply and they are prepared to ship to Australia. However the cost is a fair bit higher due to postage costs - about $15 each for the first 2 and $2.50 for each thereafter. I am not sure what the cost would be for other countries. It would make sense to buy a lot of them, or all at once of you plan to go that way with the Criterion bluray purchases.

I ordered it directly form the MOC website. Either way (MOC or Amazon) it usually takes no longer than a week to arrive.

Yes, all of that information is available in the first post of this thread. All international orders for the cases are $15 for the first two and then $2.50 for the remaining cases when placed in the same order. Only the USA and Canada, as far as I know, receive the $5 & $2.50 pricing option.

Default Noticeable difference on Criterion DVD to Blu on B/W films??

Quick question; I just viewed 8 1/2 last week on blu and was nicely surprised by the transfer. I have never seen the Criterion DVD release of it. Is the PQ/AQ that much different from the Criterion released DVD? The audio track is in stereo, so there shouldn't be a huge difference between the BD and DVD. I assume depth and black level is what sets it apart from the DVD, but is there a huge noticeable difference? My question is similar with most of the BD/DVD counterparts on the black and white Criterion titles; Seventh Seal, Marienbad, Repulsion, etc. I have seen most of them on DVD and some on blu and am not 'floored' by the difference. On the other hand, I was blown away by Paris,Texas as compared to the DVD and The Man Who Fell to Earth. The movies in color have a huge noticeable difference from DVD to Blu. Any thoughts..

I am pretty floored by all of Criterion's bu transfers. I don't see how b&w would have anything to do with it. They're all a significant upgrade in resolution, so it all depends on the source material and/or how the film was shot (soft focus, etc).

When I watched 8 1/2 on Blu, i couldnt believe my eyes. I believe it is day and night comparing to dvd counterpart. Criterion used dolby ac-3 encoding for dvds which is highly compressed and lossy audio format opposed to lpcm or dtshd-ma they are using on their blurays. Although I agree most of these titles soundtracks are not as demanding as newer movies, the new audio codecs or lossless transfers on these blurays are still a big upgrade in my opinion

Ah yes, I see it now - thanks. Sorry, but I missed that line when I viewed the initial message before. Just to clarify - that's $15 EACH for the first 2 - so if you wanted 3 it would cost $32.50.

I can't comment too much but "Revanche" is awesome. Definitely look forward to the Blu-ray.com review. Will comment more when their review is up.

The only thing I will say is that I know there were people on this forum who were concerned for films with nudity since they watch the films with their significant other or children. This film does show full frontal and contains sexual themes.

But what a pretty awesome film!

I can't disclose too much information, but a source has told me that Criterion is in the middle of restoring The Thin Red Line under supervision of Terrance Malick and they hope to get it out by the end of the year. This source is extremely reliable so I would believe what they say.

Got my order of 4 cases today, however the one case I order alone a few weeks after came with this order and I didn't recieve Last Metro... so I sent them an e-mail letting them know just in case they see my Jan 5th Bottle Rocket order, cause They sent me that instd of Last Metro.

I love the Bottle Rocket case a lot... only odd thing that was already mentioned was just the design calculations for the logo designs etc for the spine was a bit higher, but no big deal they can vary on the DVD set / case side also
