If this release is delayed indefinitely, would DD even be able to hold the autograph session? That be kind of tough to wrangle those 30 people, all together, at some unknown date? I'll keep my order for as long as I'm able, as I really want this autographed version.

So someone at a fan site (the same site that idiotically yet empirically announced that 1 and 9 would be R-rated based solely upon the uninformed word of a clueless WB shop employee, and ignored all of the comments attempting to explain the patently-obvious stupidity of such an inference, as well as the forehead-smackingly obvious fact that both WB and Paramount have already released the first film unrated on BD) says 'sometime in late September maybe'? Menawhile 1428 haven't updated their website, responded to any requests for a formal, official announcement, or even posted technical specs for a release that they are still happy to take people's money for?

Is that were this "news" came from. OH man, that's what I get for not paying closer attention to this thread.
Thank you for posting that Noirfan!

Thanks. I will keep that in mind. If this is a couple of weeks delay, I will keep it, but if indefinitely, I will have to reconsider. Thanks.

Why would it be delayed indefinitely?

A few weeks is understandable but indefinitely suggests that something has gone very wrong. I'm sure all the I's were dotted and T's crossed before pre-sales were launched.

I'll wait till it's official before being pissed off.

Yeah, I would agree with you (about the wrangling, haha).
I hope it comes sooner, so I can see what autographs you (and everyone else got). I will admit that it's also a money thing with me, too. There's a long list of movies coming out in September and October for me to work one and the money for the DD order can cover 2-3 releases off of that list. Also working on a children's book and I got to buy some supplies.

Its also the same place where the same guy said news of a boxset would be announced in the next couple of days and then it was.He clearly knows more than we do.he also says 1428 will announce it very soon and its not a massive dealy.Im more willing to believe him than some poster on here.

Not sure where all of that hostility comes from? Ah, the fun world of website Forums. As for the documentary, I do know most of what is going on from communicating with one of the Producers of the show and they will be putting out a Press Release concerning the show and the Dark Delicacies delayed signing event soon.

The reason my website has not posted a story is that I have been asked to wait until an official release is posted by 1428 films. What was posted at my website was in the Forum and had to do with a thread concerning the signing event. I posted there the signing event was postponed indefinitely. That is all.

To those Forum members here that doubt the legitimacy of what I report on my website, I won't be able to sway your opinion, but I will leave you with this. The very first post that started this particular thread has a link to the Exclusive story on my website which announced this documentary's release info, date and website launch.

To clarify, jasonsfury, I wasn't questioning the legitimacy of your post on the delay, only expressing my irritation that no official announcement had been made, and that it appeared that 1428 films had somehow left it up to you to break the news without making a statement in the meantime themselves. I do stand by my criticism of your handling of the WB Shop/1 and 9 unrated situation though, which only created and perpetuated confusion and misguided hand-wringing in the Friday the 13th thread that filled/wasted several dozen pages.

For the record, I read the little tidbit about the 1428 forum as saying that it was briefly announced as "delayed indefinitely" and then that delay was clarified as being a couple of weeks (in line with what DD was saying).

53 minutes uninterrupted of Corey Feldman making fart noises with his armpit into a microphone? 2 hours of watching Daniel Farrands trying in vain to beat the F13 video game? an hour of Feldman "off the wagon: uncensored"? 20 minutes of Crispin Glover interpretive dancing?

Just sayin.
4 hours is a lot of additional interview time. Without having seen it you can't judge what it will or will not contain. I imagine 4 hours could give a lot more depth into some of the stories that based on time the main documentary just couldn't include. I bet it will be quite interesting.

Here's an idea - instead of cancelling your orders, why not actually use patience and wait a few days and see if there's any official announcement? It's not like you won't be able to get your money back later if it's a long-term delay.

I don't think that many people are going to cancel. I think they are just discussing and whatnot.
I'll still get the documentary (when it's available on Amazon). I'm just opting out of getting the autograph version. I'm sure 4 hours of extra interview footage would be fantastic, but meh....there's other stuff I want and need. I think everyone is still really excited for this, despite postponement and it'll be a real treat when it's viewed.

Didn't see this posted but this is from their twitter page:

Details pertaining to the Dark Delicacies signing event being delayed will be addressed very soon. Thanks everyone for your patience.

So it looks like only thing delayed will be the signing and the release will stilll be on schedule.

The official website still has the countdown at 18 days till release, i'm sure that would've been changed by now if this was delayed.

I agree... My issue is that since my money has already been taken, I should be one of the first to know of a delay, I shouldn't be hearing about things through message boards and random informers. Had I not pre-ordered, then I'd be content to wait for the release whenever it was, but considering they've had my money for a month now, the least they could do is post something official as soon as it's known and address the rumors/speculation. This is more a matter of principle at this point. Like you, I have a lot of other things coming down the pipeline this fall I'd like as well, and if this suddenly has to compete for time during that Fall time frame, then I'd rather use that money for something else as this Documentary isn't as important to me as say... The Friday the 13th Box Set, The Child's Play box Set, Amityville trilogy, or all the other releases from Scream Factory.

I know that's right hahahaha
I agree with you and that's my main concern, too. I mean, to those are are sick of the alleged "whining" others are doing due to "impatience", then...deal with it, I guess. There is a concept that some people have plans for funds or don't like holds on their accounts (things like that). I respect and understand that. I can't speak for everyone else here, but spare funds are tight and from September to November, I got a lot that my family and I want to see, so I'm with you.
