I agree it could've been better.

But I just watched the original last night and it's not exactly a cinematic masterpiece.

Outside of the final 15 minutes or so, it's actually not a very good imo.

Jesus Christ! Delayed again?

Give me $100'000 and I could write a script in a week and have the film shot within a month. It's Friday the 13th, it aint difficult!

May 13th, 2016 was a bad release date. I had a feeling it would get delayed.

B-.

I remember it had some specific problem. It was either artifacting/banding, or black crush. It distinctly wasn't as good as the digital projection I saw in theaters.

EDIT:
Brushing up on the reviews, it was apparently a bunch of noticeably soft shots. Maybe it was a compression error for storing two different cuts, a PIP track, and the bonus features on one disk? I'm not a super technical person when it comes to that stuff.

It'd still be worth upgrading over the DVD. It's only 6 bucks on Amazon right now.

Did anyone on here do the kick starter? It already reached the amount needed so the game is a go but I was thinking about picking one of the packages myself so I can get some extra stuff. Got Em!!

Why has this been delayed to 2017? How many times has Paramount pushed the friggin' date? They used to put one out almost every year (in the '80s)--now they need 5 years to come up with one crappy reboot? Aren't the rights supposed to revert back to WB if Paramount doesn't make a new movie?

We’ve been hearing about how CW is developing a “Friday the 13th” television series for a little while now. There are many people who have a lot of trepidations regarding this project, especially considering that it’s CW. If this were AMC, FX, or something like that, I bet people would feel a bit more at ease. However, the fact that it’s CW on the job doesn’t seem to bother series creator Sean S. Cunningham. In fact, he’s totally on board.

Speaking with Fangoria, Cunningham explains, “We went with CW because they are probably the most successful genre distributor in the world because they’re not only strong in this country but around the world with their other titles, in particular, “Arrow” and “The Flash”. They know that market and they know the audience. They’re very smart and very psyched about doing the project.”

Furthermore, Cunningham was asked about the next film taking place during winter and also the rumors of it being a found-footage film. “They’ve been talking about that, but that’s not going to happen. I think what’s different for sure is Paramount was hung up on trying to do the found footage, which most fans, including me, just thought it wasn’t right,” Cunningham explained. “They weren’t saying yes to anything that didn’t work but they couldn’t find anything that would work. So finally, last February they gave up on it and decided to go in a completely different way and now they’re in the process of once again finding a better way to make it.”

Cunningham will be an executive producer on the next Friday the 13th film. His role on the CW show is, as yet, unclear.

I think it's fitting since the remake was filled with CW actors:

Jared Padalecki (Supernatural)
Danielle Panabaker (The Flash)
Ryan Hansen (Veronica Mars)
Travis Van Winkle (Hart Of Dixie)
