Yup indeed it does sound more natural on Vinyl too I'll have to start a collection as well . I'm only 33 so I was thrown in the Digital world at a pretty early age but I just remeber the days when my 10 years older brother had is Mobile Disco, wow it was amazing to hear the mixing vinyls and working EQ adjusments made on this stuff, the sound was truly amazing and still is.

I'll start with the Technics I have with a decent needle and walk my way thru with some of the higher end stuff in a couple of years when I get the Sttafs

Just make sure the cartridge is in good condition, and yes change the stylus if you can. Also make sure you get some stylus cleaner and a micro-fibre record cleaning brush to start. It'll be a good beginning for you.

The Sttaf's are great speakers to be sure, but you'll be able to enjoy some vinyl with your current setup just as much! Everything in due course!

Is this the TT you're speaking of? The model # you provided doesn't bring anything back, and keep referring to this one.

Nope this is it SL-DD2 very similar to the SL-DD22, I will also need to get myself an amplifier adapter to make one of my source a phono input.

I hope it works out for me. I was looking at the 790 but I wouldn't really use any of the features and I won't go 7.1. The only other reason I looked at it was because it was spec'd for more power, however the 15 watt difference wouldn't be noticeable. Hopefully it works well with my setup!

It's good enough that it decodes DTS HD and Dolby True HD already for a 5.1 it's a new standard. Also this receiver is 7.1 ready, you have the preouts for the back surround so if you feel this thing is providing enough power but you want to go 7.1, no need to change the receiver you can get an amp and hook up the preouts to the amp as well as a new set of speakers and away you go.

Chances are at that point you're gonna say might as well change the receiver but that's another debate. Botom line it's 7.1 ready for ya in case you want it.

Great move

Sweet action. I thinks it's a great receiver as from what I've heard. The only thing that might be a draw back would be the three HDMI inputs, but I'm sure they have a splitter for that. Not to mention I can't think of anything else I would get that is HDMI. My current receiver is the same way and I've been just fine for the past two years.

As for the 7.1, luckilly my living room wouldn't accomidate it very well. But at least the option is there if I move.

I'll post up when I get it!

Don't worry it should be just fine, 15 watts is nothing
