Well here's my opinion. Dark Force is treading a very narrow line between making it a fun gimmick to build some label credibility versus turning off potential buyers completely.

Do it, don't do it, whatever. But I've lost count the number of times I've read the phrase "MAJOR COLLECTIBLE" on their website. If you have to keep reminding us plebs that it's a MAJOR COLLECTIBLE, then it probably truly isn't. It's a real turn off. Do something cool, and keep cool about it. The snake oil pitch is beyond tiresome.

Price it too high, and sit on the inventory.

Don't do the light up box unless you're going to do a standard release, too...otherwise, it'll just be seen as price gouging. And some people will buy it either way, but your sales will not be as high if you only offer the light up.

Agree. I will absolutely not pay more for a gimmick such as this - mainly because I am a grown man, not a child.

People actually complained to Bill that the original dead pit DVD didn't have the light up eyes like the VHs box.

So the light up eyes are added for Blu Ray, and of course more complaints
