I don't know if there is anything in particular holding up Elves, though I seem to remember some discussion that there might not be any usable materials remaining. I'm just hopeful that since TV released the soundtrack that a blu-ray release could be possible from them.

I believe it was edited on video. Which means it would either be released as a tape master, or they'd have to re-edit the film together to get a film transfer.

If we're talking favorite TV releases (Though I haven't seen em all) I'd go with Video Violence, Chocolate Strawberry Vanilla and Dead Air. I'd like to place an order for a few more titles but might as well wait and see what they have planned for Black Friday

Yeah it's a good one. The way it's filmed with the film stock and grain reminds me of TCM '74.

I love Video Violence!! Haven't seen the other two you mention, will look into them more seriously when I make my next purchase.

I have a thing for killer ice cream men type flicks, if that even is a sub-genre? I've seen three and really dug all of them. Dead Air, I first saw on the SyFy channel. It's kind of like an apocalypse/zombie type flick with the twist of Bill Moseley being an on-air radio DJ while the whole thing unfolds

I don't know that I have a favorite TV release. I've enjoyed all the releases I've grabbed so far. It hasn't been many, but their recent output has caught my eye more than the early stuff, so I look forward to what comes next.

The director wants to release it, but doesn't own the rights. He's been pursuing the producers/rights holders for years without success to regain ownership. He is friends with YouTuber Master Chaos whose also been trying to help him but they may never succeed. The rights holder for unknown reasons hasn't had any interest in selling or licensing the film, or, their asking price is very high. This information was made public at least 2-3 years ago.

I always think these situations are insane.

It's like...guys...it's Elves, you're not holding the rights to The Godfather. It's like owning a car and not driving it.
