I died of boredom ages ago. I guess you haven’t spent any time in the Dragon Ball Z thread. It’s the same conversation over and over again there too. You either get used to it, bring up something new, or just stop participating.

Honestly, I don’t think many DBZ fans care much about Zenkai Power. It’s certainly not as iconic as Fly Me to the Moon is for Eva fans. I always thought it was an annoying, childish song. “Angel” from the last arc was absolutely beautiful though. I Want to Give You Romance from the OG DB would probably be the best comparison since that seems to be the most iconic DB ending.

If it’s like Netflix, they’ll replace it with Rei I, a piece of background music from the series. I really wish Khara just commissioned an original song as an alternative.

I will say I kinda applaud Netflix, Khara, or whoever's responsible for the Rei I replacement to just the shift the placement of the song for different episodes so it's not the same initial passage. It's not that varied, but it's not monotonous.

I'm not. It's lame for an anime ED like Evangelion. I at least expected a song and not one of the musical pieces that already exists in the show. Oh well.

Video game songs have to be replaced because of dumb copyrights all the time (Crazy Taxi, Grand Theft Auto), but I rarely see it in television and movies.

That's how it's listed as on the Italian release, but it hasn't been definitively stated one way or the other for the English-language sets. To quote Dynit's webpage:

Episodi 25esimo e 26esimo in versione home-video (lingua originale con sottotitoli italiani)

Which basically translates to:

Episodes 25' and 26' "Video Format" version (original language with Italian subtitles)

These new Blu-ray sets of NGE will remain in stock/print as long as the distributors own the rights? It'd be annoying if this show went out of print again.

I've been waiting years for this.

The 5-disc regular set will certainly remain in print for as long as GKIDS possesses the license. The 11-disc Ultimate Edition is definitely a one-time-only thing, while I could see the 11-disc Limited Collector's Edition possibly making a comeback in one guise or another even after its initial print run has been exhausted.

As such, you'll be fine as long as you're a sub-watcher or at least not unnaturally attached to the old ADV dub from the late 1990s.
