Curious if anyone has the new Veritas speakers. I just picked up two 6.3 towers and two 5.1 bookshelf speakers in Rosenut. They look beautiful and sound awesome. The 5.1's sound similar to the RC10's if anyone is wondering. I'd say they are a little more forward sounding while still having that laid back typical sound Energy has. The 6.3's are very clear and articulate. They also put out an impressive amount of bass although i'll compliment them with a sub. Overall i'm very happy.

I now have setups of CF/CB, RC, and now Veritas sets.

BigAl87 & Callas01; what do you think of the Outlaw Audio Model 1050 or the Outlaw Audio Model 990? Do you advice using either one of that to power the two Energy CF-70? As I mentioned earlier, I have already bought 1 x Outlaw Audio Model 2200 to be used for my Energy CC-10. Thanks!

you are better off using 2 mini monos for the CF-70s and powering the center and rears off the receiver you have. later add another mini mono for the center.

Hey guys, new guy here. Looking at the RC-10 speakers and the Veritas 5.1. I can get either for similar prices (Veritas are $40 more). Which would you recommend? They are for my bedroom, where I watch all of my movies (Currently have a Pioneer 921 AVR and a KRP-500m TV)

I have both the RC 10 and V5.1. The most obvious difference is the finish. RC's are black ash vs the high gloss piano finish of the 5.1. Sound wise they are very similar. The 5.1 uses the same drivers of the RC's with small tweaks to it. I think the 5.1 is a tad more forward sounding. Neither is bright sounding but very laid back. Both sound wonderful for a small bookshelf speaker.

Ultimately i'd pick the one that better matches your bedroom decor as they are basically the same bookshelf. I have the 5.1 in rosenut and it is absolutely gorgeous. Picture the 5.1 as having a nicer finish and slightly tweaked sound compared to the RC10. I use one set of my RC 10's in my bedroom also. The other set i use as mains in my lower level. I love both for what it's worth.

Thanks! So the Veritas aren't worth $40 more? It is purely asthetics?

Well whether or not they are worth $40 more is ultimately up to you. Are you set on the color black? The new Veritas is an update of the RC series for the most part. Klipsch used the RC series as a reference for the current Veritas series. In my opinion they are worth the extra $40. Vanns has a sale on the Rosenut Veritas 5.1 right now. At the sale price i'd take those over the RC 10's any day. I've had both setup side by side for my own comparison. They sound similar with the Veritas having a more forward sound to them. They may sound slightly more clear as well but that depends on what you're listening to. Without having them side by side in this comparison i don't think i'd be able to tell much of a difference. Since this is your bedroom set i'd say the RC's may be good enough for you unless you intend to go with the Veritas line for your main HT someday. In that case you may want the 5.1. Lastly i'd say the Veritas would probably have a higher resale value down the road should you want to unload them.

Thanks for all of your help! Just pulled the trigger on 2 Veritas! Can't wait for them to get here

Thanks! Pairing them with a Pioneer VSX-921 receiver, so they should sound GREAT. Couldn't pass up that receiver for $239.00

Kayvan, just checked out your gallery and those Veritas or gorgeous. I noticed you're using the RC-LCR for your center paired with the Veritas. How do they sound together?

Is it worth it to pick up the V5.2C Center Channel now? Will the price go back up or will I be ok?

Expect the price to go back up, most Energy Center channels don't go on sale for very long. Id suggest getting it now if you can afford it.

Those speaker can take a lot more than this Pioneer so no worries if you wish to upgrade the receiver later for an Integra 80.3 for instance or some External Amp.

Good to know, thanks. It's all I could afford at the moment on a college budget, so it will have to do for now
